Danitrio Fellowship Membership Post

I'm pretty sure not everyone will want one. When the time comes, when it is actually ready to be available, I imaging we'll sign up 1st come 1st server for whatever number there is, and probably limited to one per customer. We'll be ok. Regardless of whether I am able to get one, I know I will be getting more Danitrio urushi pens in the future, and I'm a very happy pen person.

I should love to be on the list.

I really like my two Danitrios.

$900 might (will) be too much! But please keep me informed.

As with most urushi pens, posting is not recommended. This pen can not be posted. It looks small next to Genkai... so are many pnes :-), But it really is not that small. I'll take some comparason shots to other more common pens later.

It's a nice size -- somewhere between an M600 and an Etruria, seemed to me.

Danitrio has agree to have their artist do a couple of prototypes and we'll see what he can come up with. I have asked them... ok, more like begged them to keep this pen under $900 delivered to you. I want the pen to be affordable, but not sacrafice on quality, and I think they understand my point and support this whole heartly. A preliminary head count is appreciated, but I understand without a firm price, this is difficult. The list stands close to 60 folks at this time, but I figure some would not want the pen for variety of reasons, so 50 pens should be enough?

Would it make sense to have people who're interested in the pen pony up a deposit? That would give a rough headcount of people who're seriously committed to purchasing the pen.

Mmmmm, deep purple undertone. We even get a great new special urushi! This is going to be fabulous, along with the Haiku. I'm definitely impressed! Thanks, Kevin! (great "story") And thank you Pen Posse!

Lisa, how did I know you would walk away with a bat pen? And now I'm curious about the Russian-like pen...

Kimy, the bat pen is amazing and gorgeous! I've already had four different inks in it. I have to keep black in it (Platinum black) so that I can use it the most. I'll be taking photos of it now that I've uploaded Pen Posse Nihonmachi photos.

Please keep in mind the price should be BELLOW $900, not $900. I just don't know how much bellow at this time until the final product is done. I think with any pens, if the price of the pen is priced right and that it is done with quality, then people would want it, and to thank the supports from all of you, Danitrio is taking this very seriously :-)

I took photos of the Fellowship Prototype next to my Sheaffer Flat-Top OS, but the photos aren't good. Suffice to say that the sizes are comparable and very comfortable.

This is so exciting!

Please add me to the Fellowship, even though I probably won't be able to afford the SE unless the price is down in the $500-$600 range. I'll just have to enjoy it all vicariously.

I have two Dani-Trios at the moment, a prototype with a bamboo motif that I got from Kevin, and one that I bought from a fellow FPN'er that has a gorgeous maki-e butterfly. Both are large pens, but very light, and a pleasure to write with.

You have Danitrio maki-e, right? So you know that pictures don't really do them any justice. This pen was just a smidgen over four times the cost of my Bat Pen, and you know something? That seemed entirely reasonable!

I have to admit that the meeting did seem to be missing a few people -- those of you who live too far away. We're lucky Kevin lives nearby.

OK, here are some comparason shots of club pen raw ebonite prototype and other well known pens...

These photos also proof that I do use other pens other than Danitrio, and only reason these pens are still with me is that they all have nibs done by John, Richard, or Deb.

From left to right:

As you can see, uncapped, it is about the size of MB 146

I really like the shape of the prototype fellowship pen, though I do wish it was the normal Takumi length. I really like the thickness of it.

I do not yet own a Danitrio, but I have been contemplating one for a few months now. Thanks to this post, as well as to Mava's (and a few other members') stunning photographs, I finally gathered all of my courage and sent an e-mail to Winedoc. I think I (maybe... probably... yes, almost definitely) just decided on my next pen!

It's gonna end where 1929 left us: a world war, shambles, and 'growth by rebuilding'. That's the conservative view of cycling history --and the big plan. Even if our generations perish.
    • lamarax Today 0:49
Of course trade wars are much, more important than the prices of consumer products. The true intention is to weaken the dollar, so that the Chinese start selling their US held debt. But the dollar being the defacto world reserve currency, it doesn't lose value that easily. So the idea is to target trade through artificially raising prices. Problem is, inflation will skyrocket. Good luck with that.

In Europe, the only (truly) American produced brand is Esterbrook AFAIK. Tariffs will make Esterbrook products compete on the same level as some high-end European brands (let's say Aurora), while clearly the product is manufactured to compete on a much lower price level.
    • lamarax Today 0:24
So let's say you want to buy a Montblanc or whatever. You pay the current tariff on top of the usual price, unless your local distributor is willing to absorb (some) of the difference
    • lamarax Today 0:20
Tariffs are paid by the importer, not the exporter.

Cappuccino should work. Frothy milk also helps to lubricate the nib. But it has to be made by a barista.

    • FineFinerFinest 24 Oct 8:52
No replies required to my complaints about the Pelikan. A friend came to the rescue with some very magnification equipment - with the images thrown to a latge high res screen. Technology is a wonderful thing. Thanks to Mercian for the reply. I had been using the same paper & ink for sometime when the "singing" started. I have a theory but no proof that nibs get damaged when capping the pen. 👍
    • Mercian 22 Oct 22:28
@FineFinerFinest: sometimes nib-'singing' can be lessened - or even cured - by changing the ink that one is putting through the pen, or the paper that one is using. N.b. *sometimes*. Good luck

I'm not expecting any replies to my question about the singing Pelikan nib. It seems, from reading the background, that I am not alone. It's a nice pen. It's such a pity Pelikan can't make decent nibs. I have occasionally met users who tell me how wonderful their Pelikan nib is. I've spent enough money to know that not everyone has this experience. I've worked on nibs occasionally over forty years with great success. This one has me beaten. I won't be buying any more Pelikan pens. 👎
    • FineFinerFinest 21 Oct 4:27

I have several Parker Roller Ball & Fiber Tip refills in the original packaging. Where and how do I sell them? The couple that I've opened the ink still flowed when put to paper. Also if a pen would take the foller ball refill then it should take the fiber tip as well? Anyway it's been awhile and I'm want to take my message collection beyond the few pieces that I have... Meaning I don't have a Parker these refills will fit in 🙄

Recently was lucky enough to buy a pristine example of the CF crocodile ball with the gold plating. Then of course I faced the same problem we all have over the years ,of trying to find e refill. Fortunately I discovered one here in the U.K. I wonder if there are other sources which exist in other countries, by the way they were not cheap pen

Somewhat confusing and off-putting ones, as said to me by my very honest friends. I don't have an X account though :<

I have a Conway Stewart Trafalgar set. It was previously owned by actor Russell Crowe and includes a letter from him. Can anyone help me with assessing its value?

There must be a couple of places here to share artworks.

Hullo! I really like making ink doodles, and I'd like to share a few. Anywhere on the site I can do so? Thanks in advance!

Just checking on a classified section and where we are with that. Many thanks. Bill

@inky1 The software for the classified stopped working with the forum. So no we don't have a sales section anymore at FPN

Hi. Anybody ever heard about a Royal Puck Pen. Very small but good looking.
