Sultan pens

Wanted to share some photos of a pen called the Sultan. This pen is made in Hyderabad, India by a pen shop called Hilal pen stores in the historic Charminar area.

The best part is that these pens cost me only around 2USD for the Large one and less than 1 USD for the smaller one. I could not pass them up, bought them to humor the shop keeper- a very interesting man.

Notice the small ink inlet in the section, very peculiar.

Excellent finish and quality at the price. The nibs are quite good too.

Comments welcome!

Cheers,

Hari

Hari, you wrote me about a "business trip to Hyderabad".

Just out of curiosity, when did you find the time of doing business (unless you where speaking about "pen business")?

Thanks for sharing, very nice find...

Ha Ha, Thank you Enrico! No, Pens are not my business, it remains only a hobby, but I took time off on the last day i.e yesterday afternoon. Now I am back in Mumbai. Making up for the whole of last week not logging into FPN

Also thank you Richard and Rayman for your comments.

Best,

Hari

Hari...good ones, yaar...the ink inlet in the section is indeed unusual...this kind of inlet is also seen in a couple of Guntur Swarnas that I bought...in the Big Swarna and the medium sized one, not all the Swarnas though, so can't say it is a Swarna peculiarity...does this regulate ink flow or something? will post pics soon...

Regards,

Jai
