Hi guys do you have a weekly/monthly zoom/teams meet up? My boyfriend and cat are tired of me talking about pens. Nobody at work is interested. Want to chat fountain pens, inks and paper... writing projects, pen jobs, etc...

To those who own a sailor naginata and a cross nib. I am curious to know that are the two nib tines for the cross nib longer than usual or they appear like that due to stacking them? Since i own a sailor naginata nib and the two arms are slightly longer than the usual nib tines. So i was wondering if they use pre-naginata nibs for their cross nibs or they use regular nibs with extra tipping (like the zoom).

Sailor Profit Standard 14K Zoom Vs Profit Standard 21K Zoom Nib
Simulacrum posted a topic in Fountain & Dip Pens - First Stop
Hi, there are lots of threads regarding the various models of the sailor profit/1911 etc... but I have been unable to find an answer to these questions. I've come close, but not quite. Sailor Profit Standard 14k zoom nib vs Sailor Profit Standard 21k zoom nib. Are the nibs the same size? Is the 21k nib a 'better quality' nib ? Smoother writer ? etc.. There are a lot of reviews using the 21k nib on the Pro Gear or the Profit (L) large but not the standard. There are some reviews Also if possible, a lot of people compare the 21k zoom to being capable of writing a BB line, others say a B. I guess it's a bit of personal opinion there but does the 14k zoom nib produce the same thickness of a line ? And are we talking a 'western' broad or BB, or something closer to a japanese B (western M) ? Thanks -
Hello! I'm a new user. I've created two videos showing the effects of ink under a microscope. The first one, "Fountain Pen Ink Flow Under a Microscope" is a video showing the ink flow of various inks from various pens under various (10-40 power) zoom. The second one, "Up Close and Personal With J. Herbin Rouge Hematite" shows the golden sheen coming out of the ink at various magnifications and it's pretty interesting to see! If you're interested, check them out! Got any opinions or ideas, let me know! I'd love to do more videos on the subject. edit: Here is a gif showing the Rouge Hematite in action! Videos are inline below.

I recently came across a Tombow pen that I'm looking for more information on. It appears to be brand new in box, or if not new then very lightly used. After a few internet searches it looks like I may have the discontinued Zoom Mano model, but there is very little information on this doing simple google searches. I'm considering selling this pen but I'm unable to determine a proper value. Any information you can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks, Matt
