MONTBLANC - Sakura Precious 88 - Artisan Limited Edition Fountain Pen - Asia Series
bitsbatsbobs posted a topic in Montblanc
Hi all, I hope everyone is having a good week! I am looking to sell this fountain pen, amongst others, due to a recent change of circumstances. What is the best approach to take if I want a quick sale? Any advice or tips on marketing or value are welcome. Sakura is a very important symbol for the Japanese culture. It symbolizes beauty and transience, as well as the beginning of spring. Produced in 2002, this Sakura honors the Lady Ise and is fashioned from 18 karat rose gold highlighted with cherry blossoms painted in exquisite enamel work. Built on the Boheme chassis this exquisite pen features a retracting 18K 750 rose gold Medium (M) nib marked with Kanji characters.4 1/2 ” (11.4 cm).Limited to only 88 piece world-wide. This precious Limited Edition is a unique treasure from Montblanc Atelier. Each individual writing instrument is the work of a master craftsman and bears a specific limited edition number as proof of its exclusivity. Presented in an ivory colored box with all original packaging and papers. Thank you. -
Good morning, My name is Andrea and I calling in from Montreal, Canada. I am a small time collector of fountain pens (and others). I try to limit my collection to Italian pen, OMAS in particular, perhaps because I was made in Bologna too, and I am plenty vintage if not quite antique yet. Just yesterday a connection in Italy offered me this pen to buy. It is a Parker Presidential, apparently solid gold. I know nothing ,OK near nothing about Parker and my search of the net was not satisfactory. Can someone out there illuminate us all about these rarer, I am told Parkers and this one in particular. I would like to know on what serial model it is based on, year of production, number produced, general rating and market value. Thanks, and if I get it I will write a review. I was wondering if anyone who is knowledgeable about rare Parker 75s could tell me anything about this pen. I got it some years ago from my grandfather when he was alive and it had been tucked away safely in a box for years. Recently I got it out and decided to do some research on it but I couldn't find anything specific about this finish and who might have made it. It has the 750 hallmark on it and hallmarks on the jewels, clip, nib and body. I would be grateful for any info anyone might have on it! Thank you, Saam

This solid gold leverless has appeared on ebay, and the seller states that the hallmarks date it at 1938. I was surprised to find that pens in this style were made as late as that date. Cob

Just in case anybody had $27,000 USD lying around and wanted a new pen, Porsche has unveiled a new, solid gold fountain pen. Has anyone seen a Dutch Netherlands 18 carat (750) gold hallmark on a recently made solid gold Montblanc pen? I am used to seeing the 750, STOD, and the two smaller stamps on solid gold examples online. I am also familiar with the similar vermeil and silver hallmarks (Ag 925, STOD, and two smaller stamps) on two Montblanc pens I own (75th pinstripe, and a vermeil). However, the example I am considering has STOD and Au 750, but instead of the two smaller stamps I see a larger stamped rectangular box, with cropped corners, with a rose and the number 750 inside, as depicted in the links below [kleine voorperwen (small articles) 750 gold]. Has Montblanc recently changed their gold hallmarking? Please advise.
