I've recently returned to the wonderful world of fountain pens and after 6 months of stalking the boards, figured it was high time I joined up and said hello! It started with an innocent little Jinhao but they bred like bunnies and the inks, dear lord the inks. I'm definitely an italic gal, as they make my newbie cursive look halfway decent but just treated myself to a Sheaffer Sagaris with a medium nib, because reasons. I'm sure you all understand lol. This forum has helped me out with many a burning, google question already and I look forward to getting to know the community.

Hi there. I have created a new blog, listing some of my favorite pens, and there is a section on how to achieve better penmanship. I would love to get some comments from the readers of the Fountain Pen Network about the pens. I would also like to have your ideas on how to achieve clearer, nicer-looking writing. You may be the first person to reply to my blog! Thank you. Bruce Leeds

Help Deciding Between Sheaffer 300 And Sheaffer Sagaris
purplesack posted a topic in Fountain & Dip Pens - First Stop
Hi! So I've been looking to get my second fountain pen, first was a Lamy Vista, and I've been looking through FPN and some other sites on reviews, and have narrowed it down to the: Sheaffer 300 Sheaffer Sagaris I can't seem to find a good comparison between the 2, so was just wondering if anyone has experience with either could give some advice. Both cost about the same on cultpens. I'm open to other pen suggestions too, if any (£30, ~$50), with a fine/medium nib with a converter, and a slightly classier looking pen than the Vista for everyday use. I've looked around ebay for vintage pens too, and have a few Parker 51s and Sonnets in my watch list, although the condition of most of the pens leaves more to be desired. Thanks in advance! -
Present For Husband And I Know Nothing About Fountain Pens...
cocohoney posted a topic in Fountain & Dip Pens - First Stop
Hi, I am completely new here, please let me know if I have not posted in the right place. I would like to buy my husband a pen for an anniversary present. He does a lot of writing in his job (doctor) and usually uses basic fountain pens from WHSmith which irritate him as the plastic threads wear. He also gets aching fingers as his hand slips down the grip. I have around £50 to spend. I have been trying to work my way through reviews online, and I reckon I need to look for a pen with a metal body but not a metal grip. The choices I have come up with are a Tombow Havanna (my top choice), a Sheaffer Sagaris, or a Parker Sonnet. I would be grateful for some advice- I can't seem to find out for sure if the threads on these are metal, or if the grip is any grippier (apart from the Tombow which I know is metal with a rubber grip). Also any other suggestions that fit with his needs, or what people think of the pens I have listed would be great. Many thanks x- 94 replies
