Hello all. Im still quite new to the fountain pen game, but I have become more aware of counterfeits especially when concerning higher end pens (Montblanc for example). So I just purchased an Olympio pen for under 50 dollars, but Im skeptical as I know they are not cheap, but this one seems very used. Theres no hood, which is the most concerning for me, as every Olympio I see online has the hood protrusion. Maybe the nib is from another Dupont pen? I know there are different sizes of this pen. I think the smallest one is open and not hooded? I appreciate any clarification. I honestly dont regret buying the pen anyways. Its look nice, and was not expensive, so its not a big deal. I recently acquired this ST Dupont. Thing is I'm not sure what type or age it is. The nib is 18K - but I'm not sure whetehr it will take Parker or International standard cartridges. Thank you.

Having a mild interest in adding another Classique to my S T Dupont pens, I came across an advertiser in the land of Oz, offering a Classique and a Montparnasse, as well as a whole bunch of other much more expensive pens. The advertiser has a good seller rating and many followers. He offers a 30-day money back guarantee, and said that all goods were owned by him, collected over many years. However (and leaving aside all matters of price), my caution came from the fact that the "Montparnasse" is quite obviously not. Neither pen comes with box or papers, yet of the "Montparnasse" (it looks to me like a Classique) he said it had been dipped only, never used. This seemed odd. If you buy a pen and dip it only, it seems less likely to me that you would also discard or lose the box and papers. I wrote and asked about this. While I was at it, I asked whether my Waterman converter would fit or whether I would need an international converter *. This was the reply, which I think it reasonable to publish here: "I have no idea if the converter will fit or not. It takes common cartridges so writing with it is no problem. I used to travel a lot when I was working overseas. Every time I was near a duty free e.g. Hong Kong, Schipol in Amsterdam etc I tended to pick up a pen as I did collect them. In a hand luggage that would have been the first thing to throw away the box. I never thought I would sell my pens so they have been in a display case for years. Now I am old and have no use for them. I know they are genuine because they were mostly from authorised Airport Duty Free shops around the world. Hope this clears." I do not intend to buy from this seller. I have better options, assuming I do anything at all. However, I am interested in considered views. Reputation and story on one hand, obvious error and the explanation on the other. * I am quite aware that Duponts up to the Montparnasse take neither of these converters. edit:typo

I've come into a small (not life changing amount of money through a small inheritance. One of muy immediate thoughts was to go for a Mont Blanc pen, however some people on this forum say that S T Dupont's nibs are as good, or if not are better - and at the moment the medium Elysse is being ioffered at a £100 discount in the UK - which brings th eprice down to just less than £300. So, my question is, what exactly am I going to get for £300? I love my Parson's Essential from Mr Pen, as metal pens seem to sit better in my hnds than the Japanese resin ones that I have. Unfortunately the nearest shop is miles away, so to try it out is going to be a bit of a trip. So, my question is, is it worthwhile to go for a nearly £300 pen? it is likely to be the only one at this price that I ever will be able to get, but I'm not necessarily in a desperate hurry to buy today.

Hello Here is the S T Dupont fountain pen from the past, gold plated over 925 silver with 18k solid gold nib, my friend Jar name it ( Vermeil ) I don't know what or why! the big question here, why this pen has 4 crab stamps on its cup ( one crab wasn't enough? ) I guess Crab is guarantee stamp of some kind of french silver but the other ( wing stamp ) have no idea about it Date of manufacture: unknown Other details: unknown plz feel free to share us your opinion thank you
