Hi! May I ask if anyone has encountered rust spots on their LAMY 2000 Black Amber before? I have just kept it in the box or on my desk for some time and the next time I looked carefully I saw spots! I have tried to wipe it off with a clean cloth but the spots do not go away. Some of the smaller ones go away if i try to scratch it off with my fingernail. Does anyone recommend any fixes to this? Thank you!

I found a stash of old reviews that got misplaced during a house move, so this one's a bit old. Rouille D'ancre is one of my favorite "not for everyday use" inks. It's a bit dry when writing, but this color is completely unique. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/673/93tSKo.jpg

I recently bought a hero 901 on ebay, but when it arrived I found rust in the lining of the nib. What should I do?

Hello, My grandfather was a fountain pen person, so there are many fountain pens rolling around in random places in our house (One day, I found a Parker behind a toilet...). Anyway, I found this Montblanc 149 in my grandfather's old room. Is this pen real or fake? When was this pen made? Is that rust in the nib, or is the color supposed to be red? Thank you. William S. Hello, I have a quick question. This is a mint Montblanc 149 from my grandfather's time. The nib is obviously discolored. Is it okay to write with a rusted nib, or will this damage the pen or the nib? Thank you. William

Lady Sheaffer Eyedropper/fragility? And Inkograph Repairs?
ThegreatandpowerfullR posted a topic in Repair Q&A
I have a Lady sheaffer XI Black/gold Tulle, is it possible to make it into an eyedropper? I also want to know how fragile the gold tulle overlay is, and if mine is in pretty good condition with an xf/xxf nib what is a pen (prefereably with the same Waverley xf/xxf nib or a fine nib with flex) I would be able to trade it for? I don't really care about the cosmetic condition too much, but this will be an EDC pen for jeans or soft pouch so I worry about messing the lady sheaffer up (everything else about the pen is good). Also, I have an inkograph lever-filler that needs some TLC. The j-bar is rusted, but has only surface rust. How should I remove it? The needle writing tip is also slightly bent, not to mention ink has apparently seeped into one end. Where would I even find another part?-

I have been fortunate enough to get a "Platignum Italic Set" rather cheap from local used goods store. The unfortunate part is that the pen was stored inked. I have been soaking it and the dirty nibs in water [with soap], but there is still dried ink in the filler (sac?). It is not just that it is stained, there are opaque spots where I believe there to be dried ink while the rest is fairly clear. It is only been soaking a day, but I have noticed that the metal is wanting to rust. What is my best course of action? Is it just a matter of filling it and having it soak not immersed, or is there something else I should be trying at this point? Thanks!
