Hello all, so that's it, I'm going in ! I came back to foutain pen some time ago first with notebooks, because it's such a better feeling than anything else. So I dig out my old school pen, and continue researchs. After going for cheap pens, I chose a TWSBI Vac mini, it's like a Christmas present! I feel like growing up on that topic Looking forward to learn a lot agathe

Happy To Join The Community ! Hi From Montreux, Switzerland
MrTortoise posted a topic in Introductions
Good evening to every one of you! My name's David, 23, I love tortoises (don’t ask), and I'm from a little city called Montreux in Switzerland (maybe you've heard of one of the most famous music festival in the world, well, I work for it ). At the age of 20, I made a big step in my academic cursus and my father offered me the best congratulation gift possible: a Caran d'Ache Léman. Here's what I'm talking about: http://image.noelshack.com/minis/2016/51/1482265081-caran-d-ache-leman-open.png I fell in love at first sight. I remember opening the box, staring at the fountain pen for a solid 5 minutes, I saw that strange syringe kind of thing, learned that it was called a converter and I tried it as soon as I got home. Because of that event (or thanks to), I've become a pen addict, even though I'm from a middle-class family and I'm still a student. Yep... fountain pens are a beautiful hobby, but beautifully expensive as well (yes, even for a swiss guy, let's kill all those stereotypes immediately ). My second passion, and you're going to be happy about this one, is photography, which means that I'm putting a lot of effort in taking great quality pictures with as much details as possible. That's also why I'm gonna be using image hosting website instead of the forum itself to share my pictures. Every birthday or at Christmas, I ask for only one gift (I let you guess what) and I occasionally jump on very good opportunities on our local ‘eBays’. A lot of people around here have got old fountain pens, often inherited from grandparents, and they try to sell them at low prices on those platforms. This is how I acquired a few Montblanc pens, that I’m going to be presenting on the forum very soon. Here's a teaser: http://image.noelshack.com/minis/2016/51/1482265320-montblanc-meisterstuck-144-display.png Anyway, I’m happy to join the family and hope we’ll have some interesting discussions around our common passion! Cheers, MrTortoise PS: Sorry if you see some grammatical mistakes or weird expressions, I'm not too bad in English, but I'm still learning! Also, if you see something weird, please do not hesitate to quote it and tell me how to improve. Really. Don't be shy, it's for the greater good !- 14 replies

Hello! I've found this site by searching fountain pens in the web. It seems to be a really good way to learn more about Fountain Pens. Actually I live in Sunnyvale CA, I'm from Mexico, and I've two pens a Pelikan M400 with F nib, and a M205 demonstrator with a custom 0.3mm nib that I bought from ahtzib through this site. I've chosen Pelikan because I made some research and I found that they were commonly reliable and easy to use. Thanks for reading.
