Anybody Knows This Beauty? Is It From China, Korea Or Japan? What Is This Pen?
Lodzermensch posted a topic in Fountain & Dip Pens - First Stop
What is this pen? What is the brand / producer / origin? What model is this? This is a pen given to me by my father in early 80-ties. I used it for a couple of years as my every day pen. I cannot identify the producer nor the model. Must be produced somewhere in 1970-ties ot late 1960-ties? Much likely to be from China ? Maybe Japan? Maybe someone is able to read the signature on the nib? -
Greetings From Poland! I Want To Introduce Myself And My First Handmade Pen
Gabyel posted a topic in Introductions
Hello all! I’m fifty aged, master of goldsmith from Poland. I used to make handmade weeding rings, but few months ago I started to interest in fountains pens and I found this forum. I live in unique region – Silesia and it influenced me and my work. Silesia is usually known from coal mines, but this region has changed to business and high industry center, nonetheless coal is still deep in our culture. This prompted me to make my own fountain pen - Silesia. The pen refers to the industrial tradition of the region, where I've been living for 50 years. The pen illustrates the transformation that has taken place at that time. The body made of black ebonite with embedded onyx symbolizes the tradition of the Silesian mining. They contrast with the titanium ferrule referring to modern technologies. With this pen, I want to express pride of the region. Tell me what are you all think about it. Maybe I could make something better or you just have tips for me, I’m waiting for your comment and opinion. -
Cowboy Case For An Oversized Fountain Pen
Roman-pl posted a topic in Paper & Pen Paraphernalia Reviews and Articles
With the purchase of Ranga's pen, there was a problem with the storage and protection of this writing instrument... The pen of this producer is large - really oversized. Attempts to fit a few pen cases available in normal sales to the pen, turned out to be... moderately successful. It turned out that the most suitable case would be a custom-made product. After purchasing a two-chamber pen case, I made an order at Vaquero Manufacture (Warsaw, Poland). The craftsman asked about the dimensions of the writing instrument - and matched the product to individual wishes. Great craft - natural, strong-smelling brown leather. A small stitch, strong threads. The material is elastic, although solid and thick. Tasteful monogram - the font refers to the westerns (no wonder - Vaquero Manufacture produces, among others, holsters and cowboy belts). The pen case successfully stores Ranga 4c, Emperor or 3c. The pen is easily removed with two fingers - or by pushing from the bottom. It happens that I also carry Lamy 2000 in it - the pen does not slip automatically; just press the edges to comfortably get them out of the case.- 1 reply

For my 1st post I present my latest FP: a black Zenith-2 (a Parker-51 lookalike.) The seller listed the pen, which came with a lovely 2-pen case, as being made in Czechoslovakia. However, other internet pages indicate that Zenith pens were made in the PRL i.e. Poland under Soviet rule. Does anyone here have an opinion as to where they think this lovely little pen was made?

Second Annual Poland Pen Show, April 12-13, 2014
ethernautrix posted a topic in Clubs, Meetings and Events
The Second Annual Poland Pen Show in Katowice is coming up fast - April 12-13, 2014. I don't know how many of my U.S. Pen Posse friends will attend (Hello? Anyone? Anyone?), but I know Sarj and Jas (of England) will be there with amazing pens (I think everyone knows Sarj and Jas). Here are some details from the Poland Pen Show facebook page: For exhibitors: 200 PLN (25 euro) (payable at the door) includes 2m exhibition space, hot beverages (coffee, tea), lunch, and, on Saturday night, dinner and a party. (I like to call such things "Pen Posse," but it's a chance to hang out, eat, make new friends, and talk with old friends.) I'm told that exhibition space is getting very limited, so if any vendors or traders are reading this and want to attend, please e-mail me. And check out the Pen Show Poland page on facebook, if you use facebook: Pen Show Poland. P.S. I am a Pen Posse Ambassador, not a paid spokeswoman for PSP or the Polish fountain pen board, Forum O Piorach. My connection is in friendship and the furtherance of fountain pen culture.
