Hi all! One of my partners is going to be visiting Kyoto in late December/early January, and offered to check out some pen shops while they're visiting to pick up any pens/ink I might want. I know there are some neat Japan-only exclusives, and buying Japanese pens/ink in Japan is probably less expensive than buying it where we're from (the US). The only problem is, I don't know what stores are in Kyoto, and I don't know what the going rate for pens out that way is. Does anyone here know of any fountain pen stores in Kyoto, or what the prices for pens/ink usually are out there? I'll have a budget of around $150 USD, and would love it if I could pick up a Sailor Pro Gear or similar pen- especially if it's exclusive to Japan. Same for ink! Any help or recommendations would be appreciated~ thanks so much!

Seeking A Pen Store In Wollongong, Australia
stephanos posted a topic in Fountain & Dip Pens - First Stop
Calling all Aussies and Aussophiles (if that's a word)... I'll be in Wollongong in just over a month's time and want to visit a pen shop whilst there: is there one in Wollongong, and if so, how can I find it? A search of this site (and via Google) yields nothing, but perhaps there is some local knowledge... If there isn't a physical store there, which Australian online store(s) can you suggest? I'm looking specifically for Wollongong-based suggestions, as I don't expect to be able to spend any time at all in Sydney (except for passing through the airport). Wherever possible I like to get something FP-related from a place, if I'm vitising for the first time. Suggestions gratefully accepted...- 13 replies

Hello. My name is Tom and I've been reading up and collecting fountain pens for almost a year. Yes, the bug hit me and has me curious to learn more about the industry. I love how passionate and kind everyone is in the community. I'm opening an online store soon for pens and some stationery products which is why I re-created my account. Happy to be back!

Announcing The Launch Of My New Online Store For Fellow Enthusiasts!
LemurInk posted a topic in Market Watch
Hey FPN'ers! I'm proud to announce the launch of my online store - Lemur Ink. I'm a fellow addict enthusiast of all things writing and fountain pens, and couldn't be more excited about this. I've been hard at work on this the past few months and I would greatly appreciate any feedback on you all could give on the site/checkout/how things look! Thanks! - John https://lemurink.com/ -
I will be heading up to Sapporo for the weekend and wondering if there are any fountain pen stores. Because Sailor launched a pen called Sapporo it makes google search quite difficult. All I can find is Daimaru Fujii CENTRAL, which looks like a commercial stationary Itoya or Maruzen. I was hoping for fountain pen specific/mom and pop type store. Thank you

Has anyone in N.C. visited Origami Ink. Can you share some information. I want this to be one of my bucket list adventures. Yet, since it is on the otherside of North Carolina, I would like some idea whether it is worth the travel.

I have a conference at the convention center in Hartford, Connecticut at the beginning of August. Does anyone know of any must-visit pen shops/stores, stationery stores, office supply stores (of course, not Staples, Office Max, Office Depot type stores as I have these at home), or any gift shops/stores (selling pens/paper) in Hartford? Thanks! : )

I found out this weekend that our local pen store Congdon and Crome is closing in about 2 weeks. I am incredibly upset by this, since they have been a fixture in the community for 109 years. So sad to see a legacy pen store fold like this. I went in this weekend for a last look around and picked up which is probably my last FP purchase from this great retailer. I grabbed a Conklin and stocked up on inks. They were basically giving everything away for 30% off or more since they don't want to be left with stock. Anyway, if there are any other local FPNers in the south bay or peninsula you might want to make a trip over there this weekend since i think they close their doors right after the 4th weekend. I may go back there again this weekend to say goodbye to some of the really nice employees.
