The next meeting of the Roanoke Virginia Pen Club will be at the Roanoke South County Library in Meeting Room 1 from Noon to 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 25. The library’s address is: 6303 Merriman RoadRoanoke, VA 24018540-777-8787 "Not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by Roanoke County Public Library." We always have a lot of vintage and modern fountain pens, inks, discussions of pens and pen repair, and a lot of pens inked up to try out. Needless to say, the inked pens will have many different inks for you to use and see. These meetings are very informal, just to interface with pen lovers and share information. An opportunity for local pen clubs: The purpose of the Pen Collectors of America is to promote interest in and education about writing instruments and writing. Because the PCA believes that the activities of local pen clubs further this purpose we offer the opportunity for local groups to inform the readers of PCA media about their existence. The criteria for inclusion in the PCA listing of local pen clubs include the willingness of a member or members to be identified as the clubs contact, provision of the contacts email address for the listing, and that the club meet with some regularity. Website, social media, and telephone information can also be included. Please send requests for inclusion to: communications@pencollectorsofamerica.com. In addition, Laura Chandler, the new editor of the Pennant, the PCAs print publication, would like to run a series of feature articles on local clubs and their activities. I see there is a big community in the United States and Overseas and I was wondering if there is anything happening in Mexico City. I do hope so!

For anyone interested in the Roanoke Pen Club, we are holding our next meeting on Saturday, October 8 at Tanglewood Mall in Roanoke, VA. on the second floor of the mall at noon. There are chairs and tables on the second floor if you want to bring your lunch to the meeting. That is where we'll spread out or pens and inks and hold our meeting. And an update: Madigan Cochran, Community Coordinator at the Goulet Pen Company is planning on attending this meeting. It will be great to see her and talk to her about Goulet Pens and pens and inks.
