Odd (at least to me) Parker Jotter Pardner Set--No Feather Details?
fullfederhalter posted a topic in Parker
Hi, everyone. I bought this Parker Jotter "Pardner" set at a flea market today. I'm not familiar with this set, but the clips do not have any lines or details in the arrow feathers. When I Googled the Parker Jotter Pardner set, the examples I saw seem to have feather details like other Jotters of the time (I'm guessing 1960's--domed button and brass threads). So, is this set typical for when it was made or unusual? Thanks! -

Space Pen Insert Wiggling Around At The Tip In Parker Jotter
3nding posted a topic in It Writes, But It Is Not A Fountain Pen ....
I use a fountain pen for pretty much all the hand writing I do. The only exception is when I go in the lab. In that situation I usually carry a Parker Jotter Flighter with a Fisher Space Pen refill inside. One thing that as annoyed me ever since I started using that combo to remplace the Space Zebra (see https://penthusiast.wordpress.com/2014/07/25/the-space-zebra-f-7401/) I lost and was to lazy to make another copy of is that the tip of the Space Pen insert wiggles around when I write because the Space Pen refill has a slightly smaller diameter at the tip than the standard Quink refill. This has been a problem with multiple different Flighter Jotters. This makes writing with this ballpoint much more annoying than it should be, so I was wondering if anybody had come up with a practical solution to that problem (I've thought of putting a bit of tape around the end to make it bigger, but it seems like it will create other inconveniences as byproducts). Thank you all very much in advance, 3nding -
Along with the rest of Parker's pen line up, the Jotter fountain pen seems to be now the last one to also have been updated. I saw this on instagram the other day, with a much better look in their story. Looks-wise it's a bit like their new IM, but if the new Jotter is like the new IM then they better shouldn't have messed with it, as my old-style IM writes & behaves perfectly, and the new IM dries out within hours. Parker and their drying-out issue has been going on for what, a decade or so? That should have been fixed ages ago and not be incorporated into new designs, but they seem to view this flaw as good feature!? Anyway, here's a look at the Jotter, you can't really see much https://www.instagram.com/p/BhzAxDEFvS1/?taken-by=parkerpens I also dislike this new clip a lot. The older very slim clips with an obvious arrow are much nicer.

Hello From (Sort Of Close To) Rotterdam, The Netherlands!
thespyingdutchman posted a topic in Introductions
Hello! This is technically my second topic, but I only just found out about this introduction forum. I've been pretty active on reddit.com/r/fountainpens (my username is the same as on here) these past couple months, but I thought I'd join this forum as well! I've been using fountain pens since I was 13 I think, but around sometime last year I kind of started collecting more pens. Up to that moment I had written with a cheap (around 3 euros) fountain pen from a Dutch store. That one had been used and abused a lot, so I wanted to buy a new pen. At this point I didn't know much about fountain pens, so I got a Parker Jotter, thinking it would be a good pen (because it was a Parker). I also just really love Parker's arrow clip and have pretty small hands, so I thought I'd like it. I didn't, and started using my old pen again, mostly. Then later I got a Jinhao x750 (white) and a Lamy Safari (Petrol, F) and I really liked those. I started buying more inks, and ended up with a couple more Chinese pens, including a black matte x750, a Jinhao 992 and a Jinhao 911. A few days ago I got a Parker 45 CT Flighter with a 14K nib (a Fine, I'm pretty sure), which is my first "serious" pen, I suppose. I recently got a bottle of Rohrer & Klingner Alt-Goldgrün. I'm usually not a fan of bright colours, but this one is such a joy to use. Other than that I've been using Lamy Petrol, Pelikan Brilliant Brown and Waterman Absolute Brown a lot. I'm planning on ordering some iron gall ink and other permanent ink soon, I'm currently looking at KWZ Mandarin, Turquoise and Noodler's Black. The latter not being too exciting, but the only black I currently own is Waterman Intense Black and it's not permanent and not, well, intense enough for me. I'm planning on buying a black Pilot 91 with a SFM, FM or SF nib this month. I actually have a question about that to anyone who owns a Pilot soft nib: would you say it's suitable for quick, daily note taking? Or would I be better off with a stiffer, regular nib? Also, would you say a SFM would be too wet to use on cheap paper? I'm a college student, so being able to use it on cheap paper would definitely help. Sincerely, thespyingdutchman- 21 replies

Hello everybody, I am a new user from Italy! I arrived on this website just "googling" around, and by reading the topics I found some very interesting informations and expert people. But unfortunately, I couldn't find the answer to my problem... I have an old (but not very, I bought it around 15 years ago) Parker Jotter Ballpoint pen (made in UK), which I used during all my middle and high school, so you can imagine how much I am attached to her. After some years that I completely forgot about the pen, yesterday I found it in a drawer... what a joy! The problem is that inside the pen the refill spilled a lot of ink and everything was stuck and dirty. I threw the broken refill away and I cleaned everything with water, soap, alcohol and a lot of patience. Now it's quite clean, but the problem is that the "clicky" mechanism isn't working anymore! It's not stuck, it actually is quite fluid, the problem is that the refill never gets "blocked" in position, if you know what I mean. If I click the button, the point just comes out from the barrel, and then goes back as soon as I stop pushing, it never "clicks". I tried everything, but the thing just doesn't work. Sometimes something strange happens, and everything gets stuck, making terribile noises of metal parts rubbing one against each other and metal springs being compressed, but I never hear the "click", not one single time! I tried looking for instructions on how to disassemble the mechanism of the pen, but I couldn't find anything. Could you gie me some help? Thank you very much!! I attach a couple of pictures:
