I need help in how to remove a Parker 45 nib from its black collar when the feed has broken off from the back of the collar. Here is a photo of two such broken units that I have:
When dealing with an intact unit (intact feed), one holds the feed in one hand and slips the collar backward with the other hand along the length of the feed, and then the nib falls right off. But with a broken-off feed, there’s nothing to hold onto on the feed side.
Has anyone successfully removed the nib in this situation? How best to do it? All reasonable suggestions are welcome. Assume that I have ultra-sounded the unit in solution in advance. Thanks.
