  1. Dear fellow members I was using matrix spiral notebook earlier and currently iam using soft bound classmate notebooks... I was certainly liked classmate notebooks better than the matrix spiral notebooks... However i would like to know from all 1. What notepad you are using? 2. How much it costs? 3. Purchased from? 4. Will you recommend it?
  2. From the album: Paper products

A page from (still) my favourite A7 notepad product, originally reviewed here: I prefer this to the Maruman m.memo DMP-A7 notepad (which I also bought from Daiso, in spite of it not being a Daiso-branded product) and the Bloc Rhodia No.11 notepad (which Daiso doesn't sell, but is otherwise more widely available, at least here in Australia).

  3. Hi guys, I am from the UK but recently started working in the USA, I am unfamiliar with most of the US paper brands and don't want to import notebooks from Europe so thought I would ask for recommendations here. It originally took me a fair amount of experimentation to find my favourite notebooks for work in the UK (me being a bit fussy). I like lined spiral notebooks with paper good enough to write on both sides with an FP, obviously without bleed-through or feathering etc etc.I don't mind but also don't need perforations or punched holes but optionally do like a bit of tabs / colour coding. The notebooks I have been using are the following Clairefontaine ones which I can get in the US - to be honest though, although the paper is nice white 90 g/m2 it is not perfect as the coating does mean start-up / dry up issues occasionally. I can get these in the US, but my guess is you have something better http://www.zen101388.zen.co.uk/notepad.jpg Could any of my US friends recommend a good quality spiral wound hard back notebook with nice paper I can order on Amazon.com? Many thanks Jolltax

    Penbbs Notebooks & Pads

So... Just noticed that the notebooks game are gaining new players recently. Aside from Elia notebooks that was released late last year, this time around the Chinese PenBBS brand has released their own line of notebooks (and notepad/memo). I know that Beini has been teasing this stuff and finally it was released on their Etsy shop about 2 or 3 days ago and they have 5 models in total: 474 - Notepad/ Memo Blank 476 - A5 Notebook Black Cover Grid 477 - A5 Notebook Purple Cover Blank 478 - A5 Notebook Purple Cover Lined 479 - A5 Notebook Black Cover Lined https://www.etsy.com/shop/PENBBSOfficialStore All notebooks are sourced from Fabriano 85 gsm papers and are priced $8 for the notebooks and $5 for the pads/memos. Personally, if I am going to get one, it will be the black cover with blank layout since he ruling is strange to me (lined is 9 mm gap and grid is 4mm) but I can not say for other people. Unfortunately it isn't an option so I guess I will be getting the blank purple cover.
  5. Wondering if anyone has any experience with the Maruman x Somes A4 leather notepad holder (Amazon link)? I'm wondering whether it is worth the price (it can be found on ebay as cheap as $275).
  6. II was thinking about making my own dot notebook, because I really like dotted paper, but I find the standard market notebooks and pads too dense (5mm isn't enough for me). I've looked around and I wasn't able to find any suitable free tool to generate dotted paper I could print myself (the tools were either not customizable enough, or it included nasty looking watermark). So I've decided to make my own and I would like to share it with you (I've posted this already on Reddit, but I figured I should post it here as well ) Dot Paper Generator How does it work? First you set up how you would like your dotted paper to look, and click one of the generate buttons. The javascript will generate LaTeX source code for such sheet which you can compile to a PDF and print. When you click Generate your browser should open a new tab or window with the LaTeX source code (if it doesn't, make sure you allow pop-ups for the page). If you don't know anything about LaTeX, don't worry, basically all you need to do is access some free on-line distribution, for example I use this one: ShareLaTeX. There create a new empty project, copy the whole source code there, hit recompile and download the resulting PDF which you can then print. If you click Generate and open in Overleaf your browser should open the free on-line LaTeX distribution Overleaf and automatically load the source code there, so all you need to do is wait a little bit for the page and preview to load, then hit PDF button in the top menu to download the finished document. Features No ugly watermarks Highly customizable (page format, dots spacing, size, color, ...) Multiple sheets per page (e.g. if you want to create small notepad, but you are printing on a standard size paper, you can fit multiple sheets on a page and cut it) Easy double-sided printing Samples sheet You can download the Dot Paper - Color And Size Samples Sheet (pdf) with various dots sizes and colors, so you can print it and choose the right combination for yourself. This sheet uses 5mm spacing. The Dot Paper - Spacing Samples Sheet (pdf) might help you find the ideal spacing of the dots for your style of writing. The dots on this sheet are set to size 0.1mm and A0A0A0 color. If you would like to try other dots sizes, colors, or spacings you can take the LaTeX source files Dot Paper - Color And Size Samples Sheet (tex) or Dot Paper - Spacing Samples Sheet (tex), alter the values to your liking (the places where to change values are marked) and recompile it. I hope you will find the tool useful If you encounter any bugs or unexpected behavior, or if you would like to add some feature leave a comment (preferably, so everybody can see it) or PM me.
  7. In this case, a Clairefontaine Triomphe A5. And the pen of choice - Pilot Custom 823, the double reservoir makes flying with a FP so much easier and worry free. ink!
  8. Rhodia is now officially available in India. Rhodia products are available on flipkart.com and amazon.in Alternatively, you can also contact us at info@abhimanintl.in directly for placing an order or to inquire for bulk/ corporate orders. Regards, AbhimanIntl
  9. Hi all, I recently bought a small notepad (3.5" x 5.5") by Quattro. They are available in blank, lined, and grid. The one I bought is lined. http://i.imgur.com/Upipt5G.jpg http://i.imgur.com/b6ET9RA.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/LSfdhwH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6Z3M9rV.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/lymSuPX.jpg http://i.imgur.com/324GSCZ.jpg Pros: 1) It is affordable. You get 80 sheets for about $4.00 USD. 2) It has pretty nice paper. It feels like HP 24lb inkjet paper. 3) It has a fairly quick dry time (less than ten seconds in Pilot Metropolitan F), which is good for short notes. 4) It has micro-perforated paper. 5) The cover seems durable. 6) They are available in blank, lined, and grid. Cons: 1) As you can see in the second to last photo, the glue wore off. 2) Since the glue wore off, the cover could not lay flat. Things to be aware of: 1) It is 5 mm rule. Some people may find it too small for writing. 2) You can fold the cover to the back. 3) It has some feathering with one pen (Nemosine Singularity with Noodler's Couleur Royale). 4) It has some bleed-through with one pen (Nemosine Singularity with Noodler's La Couleur Royale). 5) I saw at the art store that there are leather covers available for these notepads. I do not know the exact price, but I think it is about $3.00 USD to $4.00 USD at the art store. However, on Amazon, they are currently $4.76 per pad. 10. http://store.armyproperty.com/products/book-memorandum-nsn-7530-01-060-7511.html Memoranda Notepad NSN #7530-01-060-7511 At 3.5 x 4.5 inches they fit perfectly in either a shirt or pants/jeans pocket. Top bound, high quality and rugged. I've had the same one kicking around since my older brother was in the Navy back in the mid to late 80's, and it is still holding together well. Which is why I was hunting for more. I ordered a dozen. They have other sizes available as well if you prefer a bigger one.
  11. Okay, I'm no good with paper reviews, so I'll just skip over that in this case since Kokuyo Campus paper is an old classic practically on par with Rhodia (at least for those of us who love our Japanese/Asian paper!) so it's bound to have been reviewed already. That's my story, etc. But I just HAD to share this totally adorable version that I recently found on Rakuten, because it is a total darling. Just look at that! That's a clip from a Lamy Safari for size: The best part for me, as a big fan of all things miniaturized, is that this is an exact replica of the larger Kokuyo Campus notebooks - all the way through, not just the cover! The paper stock is the same smooth but not slippery perfection, same line spacing, same setup with the two dots for the date top right and the two bold lines top and bottom with dots as guides for vertical lines, basically everything you get in the larger Kokuyo Campus notebooks is here: OMG, cute cubed! What should I use it for. do you think? Do you like miniatures too?
