I just received a vintage Lady Sheaffer 903 that was supposed to be in working order and had the nasty surprise that her nib (wraparound style 14k) does not stay on her feed section. All the parts are present (the washer and rubber seal too), so I spent about an hour cleaning everything thoroughly. I needed to chase the feed threads since they were seriously gunked up. Now the threads on the nib and feed section are clean and distinct, they just don't have enough contact to screw together. What should I try next? I would like to have a permanent solution but I'm not sure if I should get the epoxy so quickly. Based upon what I cleaned out of it, I think someone had tried shellac on it before... but that clearly was not a good fix.

Hi, I recently got a Lady Sheaffer (receipt in box Xmas gift from 1969). The nib has been detatched. I presume the threaded small bit of rubber just wore away which attaches the nib to the section as the nib is threaded. The feed is stuck and I'm not sure (what seems like a tiny gold ring at the top of the section - does that screw out?) how to take the feed out and clean it (I guess that's the least of my problems). Maybe the clutch ring screws out? I imagine I have to rebuild the threads somehow also. A bit of guidance much appreciated. Ailsa

I have a Lady Sheaffer Skripsert clipless pen that I I'm getting working again. It' a paisley black and gold with a triumph like nib that screws on. Somehow when cleaning it, tuning the nib, and making a syringe converter for it, the screw on nib no longer aligns with the feed when it is tight. See attached picture. If I loosen the nib about 1/2 turn, it lines up and the ink flow is ok, but there are still slow starts and skips from time to time.. How are these nibs designed and how I can get the nib and feed aligned when the nib is tight? In another thread, someone said you have to remove a plug in the back but I don't see how and am afraid to force it without knowing the design. I've also included a picture of the converter I made out of a syringe. I tried gluing a syringe tip into a pilot squeeze converter that comes with the Metropolitans and it worked but there was pressure and it got stuck in barrel. I think this is when the nib and feed got into misalignment. A sheaffer standard converter does not work. A short standardconverter's hole seems a little big and doesn't provide a tight seal. Are there any modern ones that do? Thanks in advance Jim Bunch

Hi, I found this Lady Sheaffer in my house today- it has a rather wide stub nib, which has come detached from the feed and section. Does anyone know how it should be reattached? It does not seem to screw on in any way.

Hello everyone, I hope I'm doing this right. To get straight to the point, I have a Lady Sheaffer 642 and I would like a converter for it. I used to have one and it used a squeeze converter but as we all know, these are no longer being made and extremely hard to find. It's even harder when you live in the UK and the only things you can find are in the USA. So I'm here to ask if anyone knows any other converter I could possible use for this pen? Or even better, if there is anywhere in the UK/EU where I can buy a Sheaffer squeeze converter for the older pens. Thank you

My mother recently recounted how she lost her Lady Sheaffer and I thought I would try to surprise her by finding the same model. She remembers it was a gift in the early-mid 1960's. It was a lady Sheaffer and was blue in colour with a black tortoiseshell effect. Any ideas as to the model or where to locate one would be very much appreciated.

Lady Sheaffer Eyedropper/fragility? And Inkograph Repairs?
ThegreatandpowerfullR posted a topic in Repair Q&A
I have a Lady sheaffer XI Black/gold Tulle, is it possible to make it into an eyedropper? I also want to know how fragile the gold tulle overlay is, and if mine is in pretty good condition with an xf/xxf nib what is a pen (prefereably with the same Waverley xf/xxf nib or a fine nib with flex) I would be able to trade it for? I don't really care about the cosmetic condition too much, but this will be an EDC pen for jeans or soft pouch so I worry about messing the lady sheaffer up (everything else about the pen is good). Also, I have an inkograph lever-filler that needs some TLC. The j-bar is rusted, but has only surface rust. How should I remove it? The needle writing tip is also slightly bent, not to mention ink has apparently seeped into one end. Where would I even find another part?-
