  1. As mentioned in my previous post, United Inkdom have very kindly allowed me to swatch test and play with the two new Kaweco inks - Kaweco Sunrise Orange and Smokey Grey. I swatch tested the full Kaweco ink range, as it was, back in May 2016. I pointed out that the inks were almost identical to the Caran d'Ache range except that Kaweco had a better price point. And they are good inks! The Caramel was a stand out with it's unique reaction to bleach. You can find this article on my blog site at www.quinkandbleach.wordpress.com Sunrise Orange - A dusky rich orange that blends easily with water bleeding out lighter tones of orange at the outer edges. Lovely white gold when reacting with bleach. A great writing ink with good visibility. Smokey Grey - A surprisingly thin warm grey ink that blends easily with water bleeding out cool greys with faint hints of purple at the outer edges. A fantastic neon glow when subjected to bleach. A mid warm grey colour when used for writing. Both of these colours are a logical and welcome addition to the range which now feels much more complete. Available in the classic Kaweco bottles and also as cartridges. From a creative perspective, they blend well together and look great with metal dust additives. Well done Kaweco! Swatches and test art created on Bockingford 200lb watercolour paper and Rhodia dot matrix with man made fibre watercolour brushes, a Noodler's Nib Creeper, a dip pen with a zebra G flex nib, an automatic pen and Schmincke gold dust.
