collectorofmanythings posted a topic in Fountain & Dip Pens - First Stop
Hello! I was wondering if any of you know or have ever tried to put a JoWo #5 size gold nib in an Esterbrook JR Pocket pen, specifically one from fpnibs.com. Thank you for your help! W. H. Major- 7 replies

Would Bock nibs fit in a pen threaded for a Jowo nib unit?
Srjan posted a topic in India & Subcontinent (Asia)
I bought my fountain pen from Ranga pens. Its an Abhimanyu model in acrylic with a #6 Jowo nib. This pen feels very comfortable in my hand and I'm planning to upgrade it to a titanium nib since I want to try one. As per my limited knowledge Bock is the only supplier of titanium nibs. But I don't know if a bock nib unit will fit into a pen threaded for Jowo nib. I got this doubt because on the website thepenworld.com they have Jowo compatible nib units separately and Bock compatible nib units separately, both made by Kanwrite. So I was wondering if there is difference in them both. Can anyone advice me on that? Is it possible for me to upgrade this pen to a titanium nib or I have to purchase one more with a titanium nib? -
So the pen that I am considering buying comes with a #6 Bock nib, and so far I haven't had the best experience with their #5 nibs as the "extra-fine" was thicker than my #6 Jowo fine. I'm not sure if this is just due to the different nib sizes as I haven't been into fountain pens that long. Is this just something that occurs with smaller nib sizes or does Bock actually make their nibs with a thicker line?

i recently purchased a ebonite FP from ranga. have to say the pen looks fantastic ,but the only problem i had is the said model was available with only "wality fine nib". i use medium nibs and can't get used to the bit scratchy fine nib. but i like the pen very much on all other aspects so im going to order another one from them, this time one with "nib options" i browsed through peyton street pens and lot of nib options were given ..im not an expert in it.so i want to request the members here to please advise about the best option. the options given are jowo two tone and jowo steel with (1.1 ,1.5, medium, broad) 1) what is the difference between two tone and plain steel nib? which is the better one? and 2) is the medium nib point almost same as medium in LAMY safari? 3) which would be the best option among 1.1, 1.5, broad and medium for a user who finds lamy safari medium nib his optimal one?
