One of the things that I love about my Lamy Safari and vintage Esterbrook pens are the ease in which I can swap out a nib. The Safari nib just slides off and onto the feed, making it easy-peasy to switch nibs on the fly, even when the converter is full of ink. The Esterbrook nibs are a nib/feed assembly that screws in and out. It's not a nib I'd want to change when there's ink in the pen, but it's easy enough to switch when I want to try something different. What other pens have interchangeable nibs? I'm especially curious to know if the Sailor Pro-Gear Slim or the Pelikan M400 nibs are as easy to swap out. I've seen photos of the Pelikan nibs and it looks like the nib unit should screw in and out fairly easily. But I've not seen any nibs for my Sailor pen.

I have been looking through some old compatibility threads but haven't found an answer to my question, so if this has been addressed elsewhere I apologize in advance. I was wondering what nib is compatible with the Diplomat Magnum. Goulet says the Magnum has a JoWo nib, but doesn't say what size. I know that #5 and #6 are standard sizes, but don't know which is on the Diplomat. The stock Diplomats only come in three nib types and now that I finally got brave enough to change a nib on a Lamy I'm keen to try some others. Thanks.

Greetings All, I've been searching a while and can't find a list of pens that take JoWo #5 nibs. If you could say which pens you have successfully put these nibs in without any adjustments or violence to the pen or nib, I believe many on here would be very appreciative. Plenty has been said about #6 nibs, but not so much on #5s. Note: I'm specifically referring to #5 nibs made by JoWo alone and just the nibs themselves, not feeds or housings. I also mean nib-pen combinations that have actually been tried successfully, not theoretical possibilities based on measurements (I've found that nib thickness and other variants have been the undoing of many alleged claims to swappability). Thanks for your help!

Sailor Sapporo/pro Gear Slim Nibs Are Interchangeable With...?
ella343 posted a topic in Of Nibs & Tines
According to some other threads, the Sailor small 14k nibs are mostly interchangeable, thus includes this list of models? 1. Sapporo aka Pro Gear Slim 2. Pro Gear Mini 3. 1911M aka Profit Standard 4. Promenade? I ask because I broke a nib—a very small part of the tip snapped off—but the nib is threaded so I can simply swap in another one, so I would like to make sure I buy the right one.- 10 replies

Hello all! I'm thinking about getting a Sheaffer Friends of Winter pen, since I found one on sale. However, the pen on sale doesn't have my currently-preferred nib size. I'm open to trying the current nib out, but if I don't like it is there some way to swap nibs in Sheaffer pens? Also, does anyone have experience with the Friends of Winter series to say how smoothly they write, compared to say a Pilot 78G? I've found some reviews for the Sheaffer 100, which seems to be similar to the Friends of Winter series but don't know if they're exactly the same.
