This imprint is on a Savannah Green barrel. Was this an Export version?

I have a few pens, that have their imprints worn away. A great example is the imprint on my Parker Duofold Jr, that had the lucky curve part of the imprint, completely missing. Is there any way that the imprint can be engraved again? If yes, what tools can be used? Note that I have a stereo microscope which may be helpful plus I can draw and copy lettering, pretty well.

It's a little hard to make out in the photo, but I have found a Parker Vacumatic with an extra row in the barrel imprint area. It reminds me of the different font used for pricing on the older Sheaffer Balances but obviously this is a Parker and not a Sheaffer. (Those imprints never had letters in them anyway.) The extra imprint says, "2S1" Does anyone know what it means? It's very clearly an S and not a 5 in hand. It's clear enough to be read without magnification too. For more information about the pen itself, it is a Parker Vacumatic Major in [Laminated] Azure Pearl with a plastic plunger system and a date code of 5 (so 1945). It has a chevron band and a blue diamond clip. Nothing about this pen seems out of place with the exception of the extra imprint. It is, as they say, a mystery. Please help me solve the case.

TwizzlerNibs posted a topic in Mabie Todd Research/Special Interest Forum/Group
Hi all! Here's a Mabie Todd I found on the parts table at the Chicago Pen Show. Nib: MT&CO, 14ct, No2 Barrel: GOLDEN MONTANA Nothing on the clip and the nib is nice and flexy. I've got some other ones, so I'll stop lurking and post them soon as well.- 9 replies

Some time ago I bought this Snorkel and noticed that its imprint was different. Can anyone shed light on why this imprint is different from the others? BTW, it does not have the usual imprint farther down on the barrel.

Is there anything that can be done to hard rubber to protect it from more wear than it has already experienced but won't harm the rubber over time? I just happened to think of this while having difficulty making out a couple areas of imprint on the butt of a hard rubber pen. I am very careful with my pens and it is not like I will be rubbing the area but would like to see if something can be done to protect it.
