    So I'm not done Christmas shopping, mostly because the ones left aren't supplying ideas. But I find I'm buying for myself. Part of it is I waited too long to buy Retro 51 Space pens from US sites. I found a blog entry at some site i don't follow that had a link to a British seller, which still had the Retro 51 Gemini, Mercury and Apollo rollerball pens. First I ordered the Apollo, which is now sold out, then I convinced myself I needed the other two because of the Summer Field Notes release and the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing next year. And I was watching Cooper's Treasure on demand. I'm wondering if anyone else is doing some outside buying for themselves while still shopping for Christmas gifts for others.

    At Goulet Pens, from now until the end of the year, if you purchase one of a selection of a number of pens, you may pick out a 90 ml bottle of Monteverde ink for free. I just bought a $20 Online fountain one (which I had gone there to buy, anyway) and received a $15 bottle of a nice red Monteverde ink at no cost. In the end, I paid $20 for the pen and ink, plus the standard $6.95 for shipping -not a bad deal. On another order, I'll grab a few other items -again, things I'd buy at Goulet anyway- to make the shipping fee even more worthwhile. A couple of pen and ink orders could settle Christmas or other holiday shopping for a few friends; the pen -and ink-selection is really fairly good. Some may wish to drop by and take a look.
