Hello everybody! I have been consulting and reading pen reviews of this forum for some years. It is a pleasure to be part of this community and to be a member here in Brazil. I believe that my grandfather is responsible for my love for the ink fountain pens. When I was a kid, I remember helping him do the cleaning and recharging them. All the care he had with his Parkers, Watermans, blue and black ink bottles ... In spite of my passion for analog tools, I forgot about fountain pens when I was growing up. My return to the world of fountain pens was at first very practical and with specific purpose. I used them again to draw in the university. Then it was only a matter of time before I recalled my childhood experiences, my moments with my grandfather, the pleasure of writing with them.I continue to use the ink fountain pens daily to write and draw, but now I am beginning to collect some examples that are much more than tools for the job - they are objects of design, engineering and art. I have collected and used Montblanc, Omas, Aurora, Conid, Franklin Christoph, Sailor, Pilot, Lamy, Noodler's, TWSBI, etc. cheers! - Fabrizio

Hi Guys! I'd Like To Say Hi To Everyone And Commend You On This Community
HeWhoLovesMountains posted a topic in Introductions
Hi all, I'll make this short and sweet as I'm on my way to buy some nice Dark Green FP ink (oh I'm so lucky!). Let me introduce myself, I am a mixed nationality (fountain pen) person who simply adores old pens (go away MB M collection what are you doing in such a beautiful catalog), I have some newer pens like the Lamy Dialog 3 (which writes like a charm) but my love is my MB 149. I hope to be able to partake in giving advice and I'll definitely bother you guys with questions about ink, nib age and other (fun) stuff. All in all I'm excited to join this community and have been 'lurking' for a while but decided now with the (limited) knowledge I have and the questions I have about determining a pen's age. I'm sorry if I come of rambling at times and don't put proper punctuation in my sentences but I'm lazy on keyboard as my true love is handwriting (which sadly isn't accepted at work or universities anymore). I'm a self employed 'entrepreneur' (I don't like that word) or how I'd like to call myself, a self employed worker. I love literature, philosophy, science and obviously pens (but also mechanical pencils, gums, paper and honestly any stationary that you can think of). I'm currently residing in the Netherlands (right next to the Akkerman store where I'm about to go for my ink ) so if you need/want anything or have any questions, always feel free to ask. Now I'm off to make one of the hardest decisions in my life, to choose between: MB Irish GreenJ Herbin Vert EmpireAkkkerman Groenmarkt SmaragdAs you might have guessed I like dark green ink. Greetings and salutations to all, MountainMan Edit: Fixed some typos and got the Akkerman ink. Also thank you for all the kind replies!
