Hello everyone on the Fountain pen network! I hail from the beautiful island of Cyprus, the place that inspired the Caroube de Chypre ink by J. Herbin. A land where the fountain pens are definitely not common. I have been using fountain pens for close to 15 years but only recently got into collecting pens and just discovered the amazing world of inks! Like mentioned above, fountain pens are not common here (except for some parker pens and 1-2 parker inks) and people are still surprised if the see you writing with a fountain pen. This make me a bit of an oddity I guess, but it's something I'm used to as I am also left-handed. I recently also discovered that mr. Lambrou is a Cypriot, which made me feel much better about how oblivious of fountain pens my country is. I love the whole process of inking, writing, capping and uncapping, cleaning and maintaining fountain pens, and it's what drove me to pursue it further. I am generally a collector of various items, especially things connected to history. Always open to having a chat with people around the globe! Anyway, looking forward to connecting with you all and learning more about this amazing hobby/lifestyle.

Hello I am about to travel to Crete, staying near Rethymnon. I was wondering if there were any pen shops worth visiting on Crete, particularly in Heraklion, Chania or Retymnon? Does anyone have any recommendations?

Athens, Greece Pen Meet - Fountain Pen Day (Nov. 1St)
Plume145 posted a topic in Clubs, Meetings and Events
Hi! Okay, so last year I was all set to do something for fountain pen day, then couldn't (stuff got in the way), so I made a firm decision to get involved this year - then promptly forgot all about it until just now At such short notice, the only decent thing I can come up with is to use the day for a possible meet up of FPNers and other fountain pen users, nerds, collectors, tinkerers, and assorted folk in the Athens, Greece area. Anyway, this meeting won't be anything fancy (short notice and all!), but anyone who's into fountain pens is welcome, newbie or old-timer, including those who don't actually live here but are visiting or just passing through To keep things simple, I thought I'd just park myself on a table in the Starbucks on Mitropoleos and wait - nice central location to make getting there as easy as possible, and guaranteed smoke-free so we can natter without getting choked up by the inveterate chain-smokers crowding every other coffee shop in the Athens area I'll show up at six o'clock and stay a couple of hours. If you want to take part, come over any time during So, to sum up: What: fountain pen people get together in Athens, GreeceWhen: Friday November 1st, show up 6-8pmWhere: Starbucks, the Monastiraki branch - corner of Mitropoleos and Aiolou (Out-of-towners, here's how to find the place; If you're taking the metro you need the MONASTIRAKI stop)See ya there! -
