  1. Hi, I usually like to always have a pen on my person when I go out, run errands, or whatever and I usually keep a pen or two or on occasion even three clipped to my shirt neckline. I was just wondering what the most amount that y'all do.
  2. Hello everyone, I am from India, and ever since I can recall which is my early childhood, I've loved stationery and over a period, I developed a special bond for pens, and specifically fountain pens. Some 6 years back I chanced upon Fountainpennetwork.com but however silly it may sound; the truth is that I began drafting that perfect introduction to put out here and it's been six years since... (LOL). So today, I decided I will write from my heart, whatever strikes me to say now in my introduction and I think it's better late than never. I am humbled to be a part of this wonderful community of fountain pen enthusiasts, and I hope to learn and discover so much more about fountain pens from all of you over the coming years. Just to share, my current fountain pen collection comprises pens from these brands collected over the years: Hero, Parker, Lamy, Platinum, Sheaffer, Schneider, Muji, Kaweco, TWSBI and Jinhao. Of these, my favourite (and my daily use pen) is the Lamy Safari, nothing's come as close as that pen in terms of the smoothness of writing and for the price it sells in India.

    Books that deal with MB.

Hi, Guys! I need your all knowing help. I have a friend who is studying Art and he wants to base his thesis on Montblanc Pens as a form of Art. He needs quite a few book references on which they talk about the subject of Montblanc Pens to support this. The books don’t have to be solely dedicated to MB though! The only ones I have (I know, shame on me!) are these 7. Could you please give me any more titles? Thanks in advance for any and all help.
  4. First off, I wanted to give a big shout out for everybody that was able to attend the Dromgoole's Dallas Pen Show 2 weeks ago! We were extremely happy to put on an event like that, and you all helped make it a successful event. It was so great to get to see everybody! With that said we are doing a similar show in San Antonio November 6th-7th!. The show will be located at the Doubletree by Hilton San Antonio Northwest right off of Loop 1604 and I-10. 6809 N Loop 1604 W, San Antonio, TX 78249 There will be a special room rate of $82/night if signed up before the end of October, if you have any issues please reach out to us and we will be happy to assist. Copy & Paste this link in your browser to book your room! https://doubletree.hilton.com/en/dt/groups/personalized/S/SATJRDT-DRM-20201105/index.jhtml?WT.mc_id=POG The show hours will be as follows: Friday November 6th 10AM-7PM Saturday November 7th 9AM-4PM The show will not be quite like the normal show due to Covid. We are taking many precautions in relation to this. Due to Covid the number of tables are greatly reduced, and meet all CDC guidelines and social distancing procedures. Hand sanitizer will be placed all around the show in addition to face coverings being required. We will have face shields available at no charge at the door. There will also be restrictions in place as far as number of people allowed in the show, so a line could form. We want to make this show as fun as possible, but we are doing everything we can to make it a safe show for all vendors and attendees. Attached is a flyer we have created that has a list of current vendors that have committed to attend, we expect to have some more as time goes on. Kirk Speer (Penrealm) will be on site offering nib grinding/tuning services!

Back In The Game After Years!

Formerly known here as "handlebar", my new name is more apropos as Celticshaman. After many years away from the pen world and all that entails, I have slowly been working my way back. Work, life, my business (photography ...Dragon Digital Photography) and other interests crept in and stole away most of my time. And, the industry was changing, not for the better. Coming back now, I see a LOT has changed!! I still have some penpals (always looking for new ones if interested!) and getting back into pens, ink, paper and the history of writing. I reopened my once archived Omas group on Facebook for anyone interested. https://www.facebook.com/groups/200590740889/ I look forward to getting caught up !! Seumas Dòmhnal Ross

  10. Hey everyone! I've been checking the F-C website every once-in-a-while to see if the Model 40 Panther has come into stock yet. No luck on that yet. However, it seems that F-C has released a new color, orange, of their pocket sized notebook in a limited production run. Only 75 pieces have been made so if you're interested give it a look! http://www.franklin-christoph.com/the-stock-room.html It seems that the price is the same as the regular pocket sized leather notebooks. Notebook alone is $25.00, $31.25 with shipping in the US. Orders over $50 get free shipping so if you want to stock up on paper you can save on shipping. I'm not paid by F-C nor do I get a kickback from any sales related to this post. Just trying to do my due diligence.
  11. Here is the second episode of the podcast series, I have also done some small video clips in-between. This is an interview with Ken Jones from Yafa, and there is an exciting giveaway! Again I would love to hear any and all feedback. I did shorten this one up a bit as requested. We did showcase many new Pineider, Marlen, and Conklin pens in the video!

    Az Central Valley Groups?

Hey y'all! Are there any fountain pen clubs, groups, meetings, or events in Arizona that y'all know about? Preferably the central valley? Thanks!
  13. Hey, everyone! This is my first post here on the FPN and I have a question for all you out there who own a Visconti Rembrandt. Recently I have been thinking of buying a Rembrandt because something about it just captivates me and draws me in but I have concerns over whether or not I will enjoy the pen seeing as how it has a metal section. I own a Parker IM rollerball with a metal section that I absolutely hate and don't want to buy the Visconti if that will be the case. Does anyone have and helpful input on this matter? Thanks in advance!
  14. #thetimeflowsquietlythelifemakesapoem Hello everyone! Just joined FPN a couple of days ago! Thought I might write about something and commune with the pen community! Few months ago, I started a personal hashtag (#thelifemakesapoem) in Instagram INSPIRED BY A NOTEBOOK COVER "Time Flows Quietly,The Life Makes a Poem". Bought in Mr.DIY, a convenient store in Malaysia Its a project where I adapted some of my friends or well established authors or key person in history; quotes, poetry, poems, prose and sometimes videogames' character creed; and write them into my notebook. Credits to the author of course! The reason I do this is because; First. To hone my craft and skill with a fountain pen. Second. It promotes bilingual culture through the beauty of language. Third. To share common interests and hobbies with old and new friends. Last but not least, fourth. To take part in the dazzling action of writing community of the world especially those who are zealous for fountain pens! I am a newbie here and I saw the creative expressions forum and saw lots of amazing threads. Although, to be honest I haven't read a lot about them since I've limited time in my schedules. I hope to share something with you fine folks here in FPN and hopefully to share lots of creative ideas and reasons to write! Don't forget to check my ig @justhaikal Stay creative and Write on!
  15. Hello, I am new to the world of fountain pens. I've recently bought a couple of Jinhao X750 pens. Those two were the last ones in stock. I'd like to add some more to my collection but not able to find any shop selling them. I've checked online as well. Online shops sell them at a much higher price (At a retailer a x750 costs around 250/- but online shops sell them for around 600-1200/- each). Does anybody know shops in mumbai which sell Jinhao pens?
  16. Hello to all in the Fountain Pen Network! My name is Kerry and I am a relatively new fountain pen user. I started in November of last year and I must say I have never fallen more in love with anything than I have with fountain pens! I always though I was a lone wolf in the FP world until I realized how big this community is on the FPN. I'm excited to start chatting with you all, learning and sharing information and hopefully finding fellow pen lovers in my area. I don't personally know anyone who likes fountain pens (much to my dismay)

    Maki-E Classes In Tokyo

Hi, Some of you know me by name, some of you know me by face. My name is Matt, I work at Ito-ya in Ginza. Everyone on this forum has been extremely helpful and insightful over the last few years. I am not promoting anything for my company, but I would like to ask for your opinions and advice on an event that I am trying to plan for our main store in Tokyo. During the summer, on weekends, I would like to hold a Maki-e class in English for the many foreign customers that visit our store. In the past, we have held Maki-E classes for our Japanese customers, but Japanese people do not seem to be as enamored by the Maki-e technique as their foreign counter parts. I know that the people that subscribe to this section of FPN love Japanese pens and there seems to be a great deal of interest in the art of Maki-e. My plans for the class would be to give a 30-45min class, in English, about the different techniques used in the Maki-e process explaining why one pen may cost about $50 but another can cost upwards of $10,000. I also plan on covering the history of the process and its traditional uses other than the fountain pens that we are all familiar with. If there is only a class where we hand out a small brochure and or leaflet, we will be able to hold the class for free. However, if only being able to hand out leaflets does not draw people to the class we are thinking about doing an event where the customers will be able to make their own 'maki-e' souvenir. This, however, would end up causing the class to cost about 3000JPY. So, basically, I want to ask you lovely people and pen lovers, 'What would you like to see in a Maki-e class?' How important would making your own Maki-e souvenir be? Would just learning about the process for 30-40min satisfy your lust for knowledge, just wet you appetite or be mind numbingly long and tedious? Would including a breif history of Japanese fountain pens in general make the topic less dull and more interesting? Also, if you were in Tokyo this summer, is this something that you would like to learn more about? Is this an event that would interest you? I personally love Maki-e and want to share it with the world. I thank you all in advance for any opinions/advice that you can give me. Sincerely, Matt
