I would really like to know what is the difference between ELYSEE PARTHENON VERNISSAGE NO 1 LTD EDITION 1993 FOUNTAIN PEN and ELYSEE EDITION 90. I have seen Edition 90 sold on eBay as Bernissage No. 1 and when I asked the seller he emailed me that this is just a different name for the same pen model. The only difference I can tell is that the different model name is lacquered on the pen, everything else looked the same. I dont understand why would Elysee release a pen from their regular production and call is differently. I wonder if there are more differences than just the name.

What pen is this? It says "Elysee german point" on nib and "Cross" on the cap. Is there something unusual about the nib? It doesn't have a breather hole. It writes well. Nib is extra-fine or fine (i'm not really sure). It is an eyedropper. Cap is pull type. https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/uploads/imgs/fpn_1596207729__index6.jpg https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/uploads/imgs/fpn_1596207756__index5.jpg https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/uploads/imgs/fpn_1596207779__index4.jpg https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/uploads/imgs/fpn_1596207811__index.jpg https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/uploads/imgs/fpn_1596207835__index2.jpg

I found this Pen set today, I've had it since new which would've been April 1991. I got these for my 18th birthday (feeling old!). Would love to know more about them, The only thing I know is that the company stop trading around the year 2000. Should I keep it, use it, or sell it! Any help appreciated thank you

Hi, I got an Elysee pen with serious flow issues, so I decided to take apart the section to give it a good cleaning. The nib came out, but the feed didn't and, feeling somewhat lazy to unpack the ultrasonic cleaner and not having time to deal with it right away, I opted to let it soak instead - by the end of the week, after whatever gunk was holding it in, should come loose and it should be possible to pull the feed out, right? Wrong. Terribly so. When I finally had a chance to deal with it today, the finish on the section had corroded. I sanded it a bit, so now I know that the section is made of brass (actually, it looks more like copper, which is a rather odd choice). Looks like I'll be doing my first experiments with applying lacquer in the near future. Would be ideal if I could remove the gold-plated hardware from the section somehow (ideas welcome), so it will be easier to sand. Before I do anything to the pen, I'll be experimenting with black nail polish or brush-applied car paint on some brass hardware. If anyone has suggestions, they're MORE than welcome. In the meantime, hopefully others will benefit from another of my "new experiences." Now feel free to poke fun at me... alex

Honestly Can't Decide - S. T. Dupont Vs. Caran D'ache
Sh.Andrews posted a topic in Fountain & Dip Pens - First Stop
After using my modest collection for many years, I have come to the conclusion that my favorite pen materials are laquer over brass (or metal). I have narrowed down my next purchase to either a S. T. Dupont Elysee or a Caran d'Ache Leman. Probably the basic black with silver trim for both. I have no experience with the S. T. Dupont brand and only had an Ecridor Rotation from CdA. I am really impressed with CdA quality but hate the pencil sizing of most of their models. I believe that both companies produce quality FPs but would really like to hear from FPN if one stands above the other based on quality and nib performance. Price is similar for both so not really a factor. Buying both at this time is not possible. Which one would you pick and why? Does anyone own both? Pictures are always welcome.- 25 replies

Hi Friends, Are there any other similar looking pens that would belong to this group of pens below? I don't know which series these pens belong to in the first place. All three of them look identical in structure. It's just the intricate designs on the body and cap that differ. I know these three and I safe keep the Elysee Art Nouveau pen (3rd). Are there more to add to the list? Elysee Deco http://s30.postimg.org/g6kmu5h19/Deco.jpg Elysee Empire http://s4.postimg.org/6uis1mvy1/Empire.jpg http://s22.postimg.org/flnd7i0y5/Empire_2.jpg Elysee Art Nouveau http://s18.postimg.org/ji89yt0f9/Art_New.jpg People who know, know that these pictures do not justify the true beauty of these pens even 50%. It would be great if anyone could shed some light on these pens. Plus including information on where can I find the first two pens for a reasonable price if possible would be great as well. I know the company closed down in 2000. How unfortunate!!! Thanks & Cheers mates!!! Pete :")

Clearing out and getting ready to downsize, I came across some old family fountain pens at the back of my desk drawer. Knowing very little about fountain pens, (apart from using Parker 50 and 51's exclusively for the past 50 years), I decided to place them on my personal website and see if there is any interest. The pens listed are all accompanied with descriptions and relevant family history as well as photographs and include: Wyvern, Osmiroid, Onoto, Elysee, Parker and Sheaffer. The details are on Page 2 of the Antiques & Collectables section at this link http://www.jebbett.co.uk/html/antiques_page_2.html I'll be delighted to hear from you and happy to answer any queries you may have through the Contact page.
