  1. De Atramentis York Brown From Nouveau Angouleme to New York -A brief History http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20York%20Brown/york%20braun%20flasche_zpsoy5plshu.jpg Fellow Member BSTNNYC posted a topic about De Atramentis York Brown and van Dyck Brown.... It seems that there is no review of these inks.... https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/288308-de-atramentis-brown-ink-help-needed/ Well I got myself a bottle so here we go... De Atramentis York Brown http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20York%20Brown/York%20Lady%20Liberty_zpsdnghd5dp.jpg If you think why on earth does Lady Liberty have a beard..... Well er.... on the original it just so appeared... Sorry I just did some line tracing (no artistic talent at all) The Colour http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20York%20Brown/York%20blow%20my%20nose_zpslr0bwdt2.jpg http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20York%20Brown/York%20Colour%20picker_zpsbef96rrp.jpg A nice warm Brown.... A true brown in my view. In example De Atramentis Wilhelm 2 is more reddish and Khaki more yellowish or beige... See ink vomits Ink Behaviour and Samplerform http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20York%20Brown/York%20Sampler_zpsv3rzu0rr.jpg As in my experience with most of the De Atramentis Inks this ink is very wet and smooth.... Nut also quickly drying. (eve with the Lamy B nib) Feathering is absent so are showthrough and bleedthrough. Simply call that NO-Through! Saturation is medium, but there for there is quite some shading Although not meant to be waterproof it survived my Jacques Cousteau Diving Experience for inks.... It is not a document ink so may be it does not last at 20000 leagues under my kitchen sink forever... But just have a look down here http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20York%20Brown/York%20cousteau_zpsrb9yjkjb.jpg Sorry for using the 5-letter mammal-seed- word to describe the whale.... But the name of this whale actually is like that https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&rlz=1C1PRFB_enAT471AT473&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=sperm+whale.... I guess one would not bleep the 4-letter word for a male chicken just because it is also the 4-letter word for a certain "out-sticking" part of the male body Of course I do not hate Japanese people nor hate fishing trawlers... Not at all I like both the Japanese and fish and those last ones both in the sea and on my plate It is just taken from the view of that 5-letter-mammal-seed-Whale.... Though it is actually not a fish but a Mammal I can Imagine it is not a big fan of Fishing Trawlers.... no matter what nationality.... His advice EAT.... SEEWEED!l On topic That ink can hold it's liquor Writing Samples http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20York%20Brown/York%20Handwritten%201_zpsmiot2gpe.jpg http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20York%20Brown/York%20handwritten%202_zpstqkrakd3.jpg http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20York%20Brown/York%20Handwritten%203_zpsgcn42fiv.jpg Well there definately is shading Colour Comparison http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20York%20Brown/York%20vomit_zpspclslmxt.jpg In daylight and depending on what pen and paper the De Atramentis Khaki appears more Beige.... See linked reviews Mine is not so extensive.... it is one of my first reviews... sorry https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/263185-lovely-liquids-de-atramentis-khaki/ And the excellent reviewf of Visvamitra https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/279182-khaki-de-atramentis/ Availability Here is a link to the corresponding page on the De Atramentis website http://www.de-atramentis.com/Standardtinte--tinte--tinten--tinten-fuer-fuellfederhalter-/tinte-tinten-873.html La Couronne du Comte http://www.lacouronneducomte.nl is always keen on satisfying their customers. If interested in the ink you can sen an e-mail to Rik or Dennis athttp://info@lacouronneducomte.nl Too Conclude. Nice medium saturated Brown Ink. To answer BSTNNYC questions completely: According to Dr. J the van Dijck Brown is less red than the York it is somewhere in the middle between York and Khaki...But maybe I will get a Bottle of van Dyck too... As a fan of brown inks....This is a keeper, because of it's colour, it's shading and it's dod behaviour Regards Peter
