Hello, I have a Cross Century, (at least I think its a Cross Century) in which I have placed a converter and a cartridge in, flushed with water and ammonia mix, and stood and my head for...yet I cannot get it to wite consistantly. The pen has cold starts and then will often stop writing all togather a few words in. Now, as far as I can tell there is no issues with the nib. (athough I have never removed it, as I am not sure how) So I was wondering if there was any sort of common error with these pens. Thanks, James Marquette

Hello! I was recently given a Cross Century Classic in absolutely terrible shape. The actual barrel and cap of the pen are in very good condition, but the ink was left in it, and the nib was covered in dry ink and there was corrosion along the trim ring closest to the nib. I did my best to clean it up. I soaked it and brought it back to life. However, the cartridge doesn't stay snug inside of the pen for some reason and I'm afraid it will come out. I'm not sure if the cartridge was worn and that is the reason, or what the deal is. The pen is practically identical to the one in this post: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/236914-cross-century-classic-review/ Does Cross accept Standard International cartridges? And does anyone have any more information on this pen? If it does not accept standard cartridges, where would I buy a converter for it? (Hopefully it doesn't cost too much) Thank you!

I'm new to fountain pens and I have a Cross Century ballpoint. Being the penny pincher I am, I sought out a matching fountain pen on eBay. I found one for $25 with free shipping. Sure sounded better than the $80 Cross wanted for a brand new one! After waiting a month (it was shipping from India), I finally received the pen. I waited a couple more weeks to purchase the converter as there were mixed answers as to whether the green converter would fit or if I would have to use the slim cartridges. After all of this waiting I FINALLY had it inked up and ready to go. This is my short and 1st review ever of this pen. (Please disregard any scribbling or unreadable words in my handwriting) I inked it up with Noodler's Red Black, which has become one of my favorite inks out of the 5 that I have tried. I put the nib to the paper and signed my name, it was the smoothest experience I have had with fountain pens. But that isn't hard to beat when the pens you've used are Pilot Metropolitan (M), Platinum Preppy (F), and a Lamy AL-Star (EF). The medium nib on this pen just glided across the paper and left a nice wet line and offered some shading that my other pens didn't. Since I'm new to fountain pens, I was conscious of the pressure I was putting down for fear that I might break it! The pen has a great classic look to it and I'm very pleased with this purchase and it was well worth all of the waiting. The only thing I would like different is the nib. I write small and the medium nib forces me to write a little larger, if I could replace it with a fine nib, I would. To others that may be looking around to see if the green converter fits these pens here's your answer: YES! Thanks for checking this out and providing feedback!

Hey guys, so I picked this up at a flea market that happened to be right next to my track meet. It caught my eye, and it was selling for 20, but I negotiated 15 for it. It's obvious that it's a Cross pen, but what model is it? From what I've inferred it seems to be a Century, but it also looks a little different. Is it like a different year model than the current one or something? Most importantly, for fifteen dollars, was it with the buy?
