Mandala With As Many Of My Inks Possible Colour Mayhem
Morbus Curiositas posted a topic in Ink Comparisons
Dear FPN Friends, I have done this before in my https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/273578-susemai-van-gogh-colour-plate-experimenent/ In which I used a Van Gogh drawing to test some of those EXCELLENT Susemai inks.... I am now doing it again Today there are not only adult films.... There are also adult coulour plates http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Mobile%20Uploads/vogels_zpslxd4nb1f.jpg I wanted to use as many of my inks as possible. I did not use the cartridges though. But why a Colour Plate experiment.... I am a grown up.... er sort of... Well... the reason I did so you can see in the following picture http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20141007_112159_zpslbuviz0_edit_1412674066605_zpsexqiau5g.jpg Well... You see... I am a bit of a spastic-fantastic Luny-Remabrandt .... Wouldn't You agree??? Back to business now.... My Coloured Mandala I used a Mandala as it has many "squares" to fill in http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20141007_112219_zpsev8e8ga_edit_1412674176783_zpszirl2g1x.jpg Technique For the bigger surfaces I used a swab For the finer work I used a dipped in Fountain pen (like the Yellow in the centre) The De Atramentis wine ink Merlot (centre) I used a filled Fountain Pen for The colours look different when using a Fountain Pen (dipped or filled) they look a bit darker. Although one could always drench the swab more often. I love all these colours... the Pelikans and the Herbins very well Notice The Familiarity between Susemai TS Red in the outer circle and the De Atramentis Document Red in the outmost red triangles. The DA is Permanent and Bombproof. Centre Star is an own mix of De Atramentis Document Inks wiht thinning agent. Very nice thing to do.... Mixing permanent colours.... As a Dutchman I love the Orange Susemai are fine deeply saturated inks.... they stain a bit though. I spilled some of them on the outer cell of a cheap FP..... the white parts of the FP are a bit pinkish now. (from the Susemai outer triangles in the inner circle)... Nice ink though Too conclude Making colour plates is a nice thing to do. Also is ink mixing (look at the DA permanent Orange) I will do some more of this in the future. I will probably use both a swab and a Dip Pen.... The Dip pen is nice for Using Van Gogh's pointilism technique as showed in the link above If you like to try some yourself simply download the pictures down here... Enjoy yourself Regards Peter
