I started thinking about this when I read a listing for a German pen made in the 40s. And I thought: "I can't have a Nazi pen!" For entirely different reasons I don't buy pens with clips because I don't wear shirts with pockets. And I don't much like modern, inflexible nibs. Otherwise I'd have a million damn pens - even with these constraints I have too many, but that's a job for my therapist. So, what's your line in the sand?

I'm looking for two intrusive clips. One for a Waterman glass cartridge pen (4 prongs). Another for a fancy Dutch pen resembling a Parkette. Here only two prongs are needed. http://img.gg/761uIN1

Why Do The Clips On Japanese Pens Attach Below The Finial Ring?
jcm499 posted a topic in Japan - Asia
Why do the clips of Japanese pens hang below the finial ring? On Montblanc Meisterstucks, for instance, the clip is attached the finial ring. But on similar Japanese pens, like the Sailor 1911, Platinum 3776, and Pilot Custom series, it looks like the clip is punched into the cap below the finial ring, making the ring purely decorative. This makes less sense and is less aesthetically pleasing to me, but maybe I’m missing something. Is there a reason for it?- 3 replies
