Royal Goedewaagen Ceramic Pen Case Royal Goedewaagen has a rich history that starts in 1610. Jacob Pietersz founded the earthenware factory called the Star. This earthenware factory not only manufactured traditional stuff like goblets, food jugs and small feed boxes, but it also produced half industrial earthenware as well. All Royal Goedewaagen products are traditionally crafted, just like 400 years ago. However, nowadays they combine traditional craft with modern production technology. One of their more unexpected products are ceramic pen cases with Delft Blue decoration. For my birthday I received the "Delft Blue Line" version as a gift from my family. The Royal Goedewaagen pen case is truly beautiful, and gets a prominent place on my work desk. You can keep the case firmly closed with the provided blue rubber band. In all honesty: functional but not practical. The rubber band provides a tight fit, and needs some fiddling around to put on and remove. Also: be aware that this is a ceramic pen case, not something you want to drop on the floor. I really love the beautiful painted-on Delft Blue design elements. They are so timeless and elegant! Of course - this is a pen case that needs to stay at home; you don't carry a ceramic pen case around with you if you want it to survive the week. So this one stays at home, and is used to keep my holy grail: a Yard-o-Led pen and pencil. They fit in nicely with this extraordinary case. A word of warning though. This pen case only fits slender pens - a fact that is not mentioned on the Royal Goedewaagen website. The case is a perfect fit for my Yard-o-Led Viceroy Standard Victorian grail pen, and also works for other slender pens like the Pelikan M120 and Parker Sonnet. But bigger or girthier pens won't fit - I've tested with e.g. Pelikan M101N, M400, Lamy Safari... they either won't fit the case, or the case can no longer be closed completely. Certainly something to be aware of. My pen case came from La Couronne du Comte, and costs about 65 EUR. Certainly not cheap, but I personally find it worth the money. You get a beautiful piece of art that will last a lifetime (as long as you don't drop it).

I've already ordered this beautiful Jinhao pen, since I think it looks stunning. I have no idea about its quality, but for the price I payed, I'm willing to take the risk. However, I'm curious what other people are saying about this model, but I wasn't able to proper identify it. On AliExpress it was listed as Jinhao Ceramic Cloisonne, but I haven't found too many references outisde AliExpress, so I'm guessing I do not have its exact name. Hello, Our neighbor gave me this pen tray before she moved out of state. She said they'd thought that it was an ashtray. She was from Sweden, but I think she bought it second-hand. I was hoping maybe someone would recognize the stamp on the back, and share any information they know about it. My internet searches haven't had any results Thanks!
