Hi there to all, A few weeks ago I bought a Cartier Vendome fountain pen which is unused.I did not know that it was difficult to find cartridges for these pens. I'm still looking for some cartridges. Luckily a friend of mine had three cartridges. The pen was his father and it was lost or stolen, but he would still have some cartridges. Anyhow It was three cartridges. I got them and I try to install one of them, but it doesn't get punched. I tried it many times and push it very good, but the ball does not come lose. If I take the cartridge system in my hand in push the cartridge all the way up, then I see some space at the bottom. I don't know there should be placed something there, or is this normal? Does anyone have any experience with Cartier Vendome fountain pens on this matter? Cheers to all, Byte

Hi, everyone! I wanted to introduce myself to this network. I have been a long-time pen enthusiast, and am the owner of luxury pen retailer Truphae, Inc. We specialize in high-end luxury pens from companies like Aurora, Montegrappa, ST Dupont, Visconti, etc...and have great relationships with them as well. We also carry brands such as Pelikan, Cartier, and many others. Our goal is to find the coolest pens around, particularly rare ones that many other people would have a hard time sourcing. We not only sell, but buy and consign as well. Looking forward to getting to know you all better! ~Chris

I have a question on a Cartier Louis LE platinum with leather trim, the so-called 'eye of the tiger' model. I made the silly mistake few years back to allow my freshman in college nephew to try this particular pen for a weekend - and the pen came back with the nib in a bad condition. Most likely the pen has been pressed too hard and the nib was scratched heavily. I took the pen to MB service center in Singapore (at the time) and they quoted S$550 to repair the damage. I passed on that. Now I have been repatriated to Europe and I would like to know if anyone can recommend a solid nibmeister in the UK or Germany mainly, as I find the cost from the Richemont Group's service center excessive. Obviously the pictures can't say much due to work travels but I've been very seldom writing with fountain pens these days, so am not very familiar with good repair/skills sources. Appreciate your input.

What are everyone's thoughts on Cartier? I feel like they don't get mentioned enough or get enough love, when really they are one of the most luxurious brands around! Do you think they still have a ways to go to be recognized by pen enthusiasts, compared to other categories like jewelry that they are more well known for? Below are a few photos taken of some favorites!

Converter Search - Cartier Must De Trinity Vermeil
ImprovedMedicare4All posted a topic in Fountain & Dip Pens - First Stop
Am looking for a converter (any brand that will work) for an older Cartier pen - the Must de Trinity Vermeil model. I prefer to use a converter, instead of using the cartridges (that usually refill with a small syringe). The local Cartier shop sent it to their main store, and they could not provide a new converter, or even recommend where to get one, so looking for another converter from Jet Pens or another source, once I can find out what converter will fit this model. Would much appreciate any recommendations. Thank you. About me - For day to day, I like my Pilot Vanishing Point, preference for the medium nib, but have another with fine point that just smoothed using about 6000 grid emory board. Had been given my first vanishing point (Namiki) fountain pen years back, and like worrying less about likelihood of leaking after inadvertent cap opening, as with other pens. May everyone have a much better 2018 than 2017! -
I was gifted this pen by my father. I have one other fountain pen, which i don't use often. This specific fountain i've been doing a lot of research on because i feel it would be in better use with someone else. The only problem is I cannot find a price for it. Through the research I have found it to be a "Cartier Limited Edition Louis Cartier 100 Years in America Centennial Fountain Pen" that sounds like quite the pen to me. I unfortunately don't use it and neither does my father. So I am here trying to see how much these go for, since it was so hard to find out about it in the first place, i figured its a pricey pen. So i don't want to just send it off to any random person. I would want it to go to the right person. If someone out there could provide more information for me, I'd be very appreciative of the help.

I noticed a somewhat decrepit ringtop on eBay the other day. It was listed as a Cartier with a really flexy nib, but the really interesting thing was left out of the listing. The picture of the nib was too blurry to make out the name, but another pictured showed, very clearly, "William Hicks New York." Nobody else seems to have noticed - even the seller. I got totally lucky. Anyone have one of these nibs? Mr. Hicks did his thing for the likes of Cartier and Tiffany. What's the plutocrat writing experience like?

Chopard And Cartier Pens - First Really Expensive Purchase
Xozzen posted a topic in Fountain & Dip Pens - First Stop
Hello everyone, I have been liking my fountain pens for quite some time now and want to get my first "really expensive" pen. I am interested mostly in some pens from Cartier, Chopard and Montblanc. You get an idea about the price range. I have read many things about Montblanc pens already, but I find it hard to find much information about Cartier and Chopard pens. What is the general consensus about them, are they good writers, are they very overpriced and rather comparable to lower end pens, or maybe something entirely different? Keep in mind that I will not be able to try these pens before I buy them, I have to "blind buy" them online most likely. Pens that caught my eye were: Chopard Racer Montblanc Rouge et Noir (the new one) Cartier Roadster and some from the MB great characters. Thanks in advance! -
I'm in California and would like to refurbish my Cartier Must II fountain pen. Not sure if the nib is plated or solid gold but the body is sterling. Anyone know where I can get it repaired or have the nib replaced if need be? It's about 25 years old, no certificate of warranty from Cartier but it was bought in a duty free shop in Paris long ago...Thanks in Advance!

I have inherited a contemporary Cartier ballpoint pen with what Cartier describe as a black "resin / composite" body. The composite is badly worn in the grip section - indeed, there is a small patch of bare metal showing through (I assume, the main structure of the pen. I wondered if anyone knows of a repairer who can either replace the grip section or fill and polish the worn section? Cartier stores are proving pretty useless in this regard! My technical skills are relatively useful, if anyone can point me towards a suitable repair technique. The pen is of great sentimental value and it would be nice to have it looking a tad better! Wishing you all a very pleasant weekend.

Hi, a friend of mine sent me a picture of a Cartier Diabolo rollerball pen someone gave him, asking me if the pen was possibly a fake. I told him I'd never seen a Diabolo like this before, and the refill doesn't even bear a brand name, likely a third party refill. However, I couldn't be 100% sure this is not a genuine item. Comparing it with the pic I took from Rakuten, you can see the difference. I would appreciate it if you can give me some advice on whether it's a fake. Thanks. Clemente
