While the defacto 18.5mm hooded Nib is pretty much everywhere , it's praised for its robustness and usually straight forward just write performance it was always lamented for having only F and EF , well with the new in vogue " Long Knife " grind tipping showing up in many Chinese fountain pen and nibs it's inevitable it would show up on the de facto hooded Nib.
Well conclusion : no its not quite the same as the open no.5 or no.6 nib but it's very usable for penmanship ( native language , less for cursive ) and answer the need for a Medium / Broad in usage
