A Sentimental Project
Custom Pen Parts posted a topic in It Writes, But It Is Not A Fountain Pen ....
I received a mail from a guy which I could not ignore. I am sure you will agree. This is what he wrote. To explain my emotional journey: my farther born in 1895 was a pit manager and I remember him signing papers with, probably, one of the early Biros in the 1940/50s . Similarly my eldest brother born in 1920 was one of the first administrators in the embryonic NHS in 1948 and it is his biros that I have - maybe they were standard supplies? It would be great for me to get them working again!! I spent some time making some replacement refills, but I am still not sure what pens he sent me to repair or what dates the pens were issued. I am sure we both would benefit from help identifying them. I have attached photos to help. -
