I was selling a Pacific ocean blue Lamy Alstar with a 14k solid gold nib in the past few months. The nib grade is extra fine. I bought the pen and the nib seperately and put them together since I thought the color is really compelling however, a pal said my gold nib had a tad bid of baby bottom. And thus, I could not have my pen sold though the pen is mint and I set a fair price for it. Do you guys regard Lamy alstar as a student pen? Is this conbination unproper?

Has anybody experienced serious quality control issues with Safaris, vistas and Al stars? 3 out of 4 safaris and 1 out of 2 Al stars I own have scratchy medium nibs. All of them are bought from different places. Some are misaligned out of the box, one of them has a slit that is not properly cut, it's cut at an angle rather than a straight vertical cut. No more Lamys for me.

Hi folks, Lamy Al-Star Pacific has arrived! Oh and do they look stunning! It is gorgeous bright and vibrant turquoise. Fountain pens come with Fine or Medium nib (feel free to swap any Z50 of course). There are Roller-balls and Ball-point pens too. Ink comes in T10 cartridges and T52 bottles. It is the very first special edition available in bottles for us. Pacific ink is available in special edition packaging, but the ink itself is exactly the same as regular Lamy Turquouise. https://www.bureaudirect.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=pacific Enjoy! Mishka

Hey all, has anyone ever heard of or seen a mini Lamy? Like a short version of a Safari or Al-Star? Has anyone ever wanted one? I think a pocket length Safari would be pretty sweet! Similar in size and use to a Kaweco. What do YOU think? Tim
