I'm writing to ask for advice about selling pens. After many years of being a magpie wide-spectrum accumulator, I've started focusing (largely on Pelikan). Alas, cash-flow is an issue, so I need to sell some nice pens to be able to afford anything new. For example, I have a Delta Israel 60 LE, a Visconti Opera Master (blue) LE, a Visconti Wall Street (red), an orange Visconti Opera, an OMAS Milord HT, and a couple of OMAS Ogiva Cocktails. These are all beautiful (and fairly high-value) pens that I could bear to part with, as I almost never use them. I'm still on the fence about some other pens, like my OMAS Prototipo (same shape as my 360, but slightly smaller and in demonstrator yellow) and my Classic Pens LM1 (red). I did sell a pen (almost by accident) once, but I have never actively sold pens before. I know that I could go via eBay, but I am not a huge fan of that platform. However I go about it, I would want to send them tracked and insured, of course. Alas, I'm in a rural (for Europe) region, so in-person selling is completely out of the question, though I am planning to attend this year's Pelikan Hub later this month. My question is: what would you recommend as the best approach to take in selling some pens, bearing in mind that I'm not in a rush? @Moderators: I wasn't exactly sure where to post this: "Fountain & Dip Pens - First Stop" and "The Mall" were possible, but in the end I decided that the Market Watch forum seemed most appropriate - if you think a different forum is more suitable, please move it there... (Edited for clarity)

Pen for a high grip with (fairly) big hands
frolic838 posted a topic in Fountain & Dip Pens - First Stop
OK Pen Friends. I have a problem. I would love for my husband to get a fountain pen that he loves, but he has a very high grip and big hands. He has tried a few of my pens and here is what we have discovered. For reference, on a Safari he holds it just below the o-ring and can feel the ring with all three fingers. He liked feel of the ECO-T. His fingers are on the threads. He says the balance is funky with the weight "heavy" in the crook of his hand when posted. Unposted he wants to choke up to correct the balance, but then the piston screw on the back digs into his hand. He gripped the Pilot Metropolitan above the "grip" section and it felt too thin. The JinHao x750 felt too short unposted and pretty good posted, but he liked the ink flow on the TWSBI better. Does the hive mind have any suggestions of pens that would fit his hands? Bonus points if it either has or can be fitted with a 1.1 Stub. We would prefer to not break the bank on it, so sub $150 please. Thanks! -
Hi, I bought several BAOER 388 pens to have as giveaways to my students as encouragement. I have grown to like using them at school with my students, so I’m looking for replacement or alternative nibs to have as a backup in case a pen takes a nose dive onto the concrete floor and have the opportunity to try different nibs. Because of the environment and as my students have learning difficulties, I am not looking for expensive or custom nibs. Any ideas gratefully received. Thanks JohnD aka NgunnawalJack

I have had this pen since the 90's. Bought it brand new in Black Gold Trim. It has sentimental value and I would like to keep in good shape. I need to replace the barrel which was damaged during one of my work related trips. I have tried Pen Friend in London who were kind enough to send the pen to Waterman France directly but to no avail. Would anyone have a barrel, or would anyone know where I could source one in the UK or Europe at large? Internet searches have not been successful. Thank you and I hope I have nto broken forum rules by posting this. Apologies if I have. Thank you all

Hi I need some advice from the Parker 51 experts please I have a NOS Parker 51 Vac Fill and another that is NM. On both these pens the Lustraoly caps are very tight and so much so that when taking the caps off I believe they are scratching the barrel above the clutch ring. Is this the case because there is some shrinkage in the cap after decades of non use. Is the anything that I can apply to make the caps a bit smoother to take on and off. Thanks

For some time I have been collecting Parker fountain pens mainly Duofolds Victory's and 51's (by accident). I would like to acquire two more modern pens to celebrate the birth of my children in 1997 and 1999 I will add these to my collection at first but will eventully give them to my children. I would really appreciate some advice from anyone who has used pens from this era. Thanks Michael
