Hello all! I went to a pen meet-up group in Seattle today and brought a bunch of my pens for them to view. The big hit was this Waterman's 100 Year Pen. We tested the bladder (with water) and it still works. All the parts are original, which I'm told is rare for this pen. The body is nearly flawless. It was suggested to me that I start the bid at $750.00 on Ebay, and that it could fetch upwards of $1000.00 Naturally I was pretty excited...but since I've been home I've been researching this pen to see what it's going for and I've only seen them in the $200.00 to $300.00 range (the pen I saw had a new very clear acrylic thing on the end...). Otherwise having a hard time finding prices. I was also told this was a first year production pen, but my research seems to indicate 3rd year. Hmmm. In your collective experience is it worth that much. If not, what should I ask for it? Please see pics below and thanks for your input!

Somebody put up four Waterman Hundred-Year pens on eBay: they all have perfect transparent blind caps, which suggests either a restoration or a fake. The markings look right and they're all different, and they're being auctioned with very low minimums. Is it actually worth it to build fake Watermans when you could get more money for a fake Mont Blanc?
