Hi there. I recently discovered a Mont Blanc Monte Rosa 042 fountain pen that used to belong to my grandfather. It looks to be in good working order but it is missing the clip and the little screw on tip of the cap that holds the clip. My question is in regards to the material on the cap trim and clip. The trim on the cap on this pen is silver coloured, not gold. There is a very fine line right along the edge of the trim piece that might be sort of gold but I'm not sure. The nib is also steel but there's some gold coloured discolouration near the pen body. Again, is this wear? All of the pens that I see on-line as I search for the clip and cap tip have gold trim and clips. Has my pen been used such that gold plating has been worn off of the trim or did they also come in silver/steel? The nib has "Monte Rosa" engraved on it. The cap has "Monte Rosa" and "Montblanc-Product" engraved. The twist end of the body has "042" with a dot below the 2 and "M" engraved. The main part of the body has "MADE IN GERMANY". All plastic in cap and body is black. Any help that can be offered will be appreciated. I'm a new member of Fountain Pen Network and this is my first posting. Newbie !!! Thanks! David
