Sheaffer Skrip Green

Hey there again. This is one of my new favorite inks!!! I love the flow and the beautiful turquoise-like color. Not true green like Diamine Umber or PR Sherwood green or even Diamine Emerald, but still a beautiful shade!

Enjoy!

Thank you for this review -- I first encountered this ink in a Sheaffer calligraphy set and liked it there. I should use it more in a regular fountain pen.

Thanks for the review. I bought some of these cartridges on clearance, but haven't tried them yet.

May you have pens you enjoy, with plenty of paper and ink. :)

I used Staples bagasse small legal pad paper. I need to find a way to order more of this ink, it's very well behaved and I fall in love with the color more every day!

Thanks for the review! I have some cartridges and have yet to try them. The color in your review looks very pretty on my monitor.

I just started using it in my Calligraphy pen. I'd really prefer something a little darker, but it is rather nice.

The green in the cartridges I have looks like the ink in this review. The Skrip green in the bottle I have has more blue in it. Thanks very much for your review!

Thank all three reviews.

I have my First...since Custer had hair, Sherffers (A Fashion 1 or 2) coming and one uses cartridges. I had most likely a Sheaffer school pen in Silver Dollar Days.

I some how don't count my Old Sheaffer Calligraphy pen....perhaps because it's remarkably ugly.

I am looking for some sort of cartridge to put in it.

I do have one empty cartridge from the German flea market set, and will have used up the brown I had to re-hydrate. I can use inks I have.

How ever, it gives me a chance to try one or two Sheaffer inks.

I like shading inks, so this should get a call.

I opened a bottle of Green Skrip last night and it is a very nice ink indeed. The color looks different than the scan though - the scan is far more blue and turquoise like than what I see on a sheet of paper in front of me. Also, mine has a lot of shading when written with a wet, fine & flexible Venus President 14k nib. I spent 30 minutes with flushing the pen properly before filling it with the Skrip so there should be no rogue color mixing going on.

In permanent denial

Sorry, I just can't see this one.

Although well behaved, this ink is very similar to other pen manufacturers green offerings (yes, Waterman, Quink, Sailor, Pelikan, Visconti - I mean you).

When I think of green, I don't think of this strange blue- green pthalo shade and am continually baffled as to why so many do.... I want a grassy sort of colour, i.e. that sort which is seemingly far more difficult to find.

It's not just me, is it?

I have a set of Sheaffer calligraphy pens. I put this ink in the broad nib. It was a beautiful green-blue shade.

I switched it to the fine nib, mainly because I really liked the color and didn't want to use it up so fast. I was amazed how different the color is in the narrower nib. It's still very nice, but I would call it a turquoise.

Looking at the two side by side, I would never guess it's the same ink.

Wow that's lovely. I quite like teal colours and this seems to be on the very green end of teal rather than a plain-jane green. Ooh the temptation. At least skrip isn't expensive.

I didn't like Skrip Green in the US made stuff 40 years ago (although I did have a brief dalliance with it), and I don't care for the Slovenian stuff either, traded mine off.

I would like it quite a bit if it wasn't so blue, except for the color it is very very nice ink!

Lamy Green is a "grassy" color in my opinion.

Noodler's standard Green is the color you want. Straight up grassy green, and non of the problems that the fancier Noodler's inks exhibit.
