PLEASE NOTE: You are not seeing the exact color of this ink. You are seeing the color as interpreted by my scanner, as compressed using JPEG, and as displayed by your monitor. Is it close to the real thing? Probably somewhat close. But exact it is not.

Ergo, therefore and hence, if you would like an honest to goodness, genuine, hand-written sample of this ink, just shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to send you a postcard*.

Ray: I'm loving Diamine inks, too. Once I sample theirs, I'm going to work my way through Noodlers.

Goodwhiskers: Thank you for your kind words. I haven't actually used cursive for ...longer than I care to remember. Something about these Diamine inks, however, made me want to try again.

Cheers!

Great review! This is one of my favorite purples, as well. I love your "Moxidacious" rating system, Eric!! Looking forward to more reviews from you.

Warm regards,

Lynne

Great review format, nicely done!

It looks from the scan the 'Violet' is another of Diamine's eccentrically-named inks. I'm having a hard time finding much of any red mixed in with the blue.

Harumph. PM sent for postcard sample.

I once had this ink but exchanged it because I could not warm up to it. It is clearly violet in real life, somewhat on the bluish side.

Most scanners cannot reproduce violets and purples realistically. The show rather a blue tone than the real thing. Even colour correction is rarely precise. Thus most scans and samples I've seen of purples and violets on the internet are misleading.

Breck, I don't think this ink is eccentrically named--see if this review I did sometime ago looks more violet to you...To me, this is about how the ink really looks.

The scan definitely shows this ink to be bluer than it actually is. I find it the perfect lavender ink, and is definitely a violet shade. I love how it comes out a darker shade of purple and dries to the lavender color I was seeking with this ink. Depending on how wet a nib you use you can have some shading occur. It's definitely a well behaved and fun ink to use.

FP Ink Orphanage-Is an ink not working with your pens, not the color you're looking for, is never to see the light of day again?!! If this is you, and the ink is in fine condition otherwise, don't dump it down the sink, or throw it into the trash, send it to me (payment can be negotiated), and I will provide it a nice safe home with love, and a decent meal of paper!
