Pelikan M150 170° Anniversario

Hello,

The italian Pelikan website has a Special Edition for a new M150 model to commemorate the 170° anniversary of the company.

Here is the pic linked directly from the site:

I just wonder what is "Special" of this edition: just the booklet and package or is the color combination not available at the moment and in recent years?

As far as I remember now the M150 only came in black.

Cheers,

Hi,

They came in this colour as well, a have two and an MP, all bought about 5-6 years ago, maybe more. They also came in other colours as well, but I think Black has been the only standard colour in recent years.

See link below

Thank you for your answer andy. I think that - even if the color is nothing "special" - I will try to get a go to the pen. The price is low (56€) and the 170° anniversary box/booklet interesting...

Cheers,

I think this pen may be a special edition because of the color. To my knowledge the color is not available in any other model. In the seventies when I bought my first Pelikan it was just like the one you have pictured. I have two or three of them and I recently bought a fountain pen and pencil from an eBay seller that was the green barrel as this one. It seems to me that Pelikan only sells the M150's in one color at a time. In the seventies it was this green, later it was a burgandy, and not it is black. I have a couple of each and I love them all. This was my beginning with Pelikan and I can tell you for the price they have all worked just fine and the only problem I have ever had with any was with my original. I some how managed to break the cap end off, freeing the clip. Chartpak recently repaired this problem for me.

If you have a chance to get one, I would say; snatch it up! If I could I would order one myself. Hum, which 150 nib do I want for this one?

Yep, so finally later today I was walking in a B&M and couldn't resist. I purchased one. It is not that cheap compared to the german set (an old stock?), but it's a nice small pen. Nothing on it to hint is a special edition, if we exclude the color and an inner brochure were the history of Pelikan is told.

Btw: saintsimon, the color of my pen is much similar to the one pictured on my first post. The set pic color you linked is much darker: just different light set up in picture or different color?

I'll post some picture later.

Cheers,

Cheers,

I've seen several times them in real life last year in our local Galeria-Kaufhof, and they were lighter than in the picture, so most likely they are identical in colour with yours. I don't know if they are old stock.

Galeria-Kaufhof [G-K] a (rather expensive) department store, seems to have become a special "surprise"-retailer/outlet for Pelikan. None of the SEs sold by G-K can be found on the Pelikan website, no announcements are made, the "reduced" prices are really low; while they were never actualy available for full MSRP.

In recent years G-K sold exclusively the brown tortoise M400 sets (both new and old style), the "American only" blue M605, the M430 (black resin body, silver cap, gold trim), these colourful M150 sets, the new yellow M200 and still the coloured-transparent M200s.

I remember buying my M750 and M760 in the early 90s for a discount at G-K in Munich.

I just purchased this pen from a fellow on this forum. I did some research and from what I can find out, Pelikan only sells the 150 in black in the USA market. From what I've read, the 150 is available in other colors in Europe.

I can't recall or find where I got this information.

...

Are the 'NEW YELLOW M200' and the Citroen M200 the same?

I think I'm darn jealous of you guys in Europe that you can get things different than what we get in the USA. It's just not nice!

I am happy to here that this color pen is available overseas and hopefully you guys will keep us "foreigner's" posted on the unique items you find over there so what we need to drool over and hope you guys will buy some and sell them here on the forum Marketplace! ! !

Looks like the old MC120 deluxe from the 80's.

So, have we figured out whether or not this is a special color or just special packaging? I've had a M150 for 6 years now. It (my only M150) was of many generously donated by Chartpak in memory of former Pentracer Katie Hill. Mine looks like the ones in the photos, green barrel, black cap, painted logo on cap. Though it is not my most expensive pen, it it certainly one of the most special of the pens I own.

My personal opinion is that this is the same Pelikan green color used for other models.

So, just the package is the "Anniversary" edition.
