Here is an unusual Shadow Wave

Every now and then you get real lucky.... today was my day....... AGAIN

It is well known I love Vacumatics.... I currently have all the colors of the First Generation, all in really great shape...

I have now started looking for good Shadow Waves.... not always easy to find.... and generally not inexpensive in good shape..

I saw this one on eBay the other day and was curious if it was real or a Frankenpen... so I sent the pictures to the good DocVac and he said it looked kosher to him...

SO, I bid and won... it arrived today.....

A Single Jewel Vacumatic Shadow Wave... plastic filler unit and without a doubt probably the smoothest xf/f nib I now own...

The feed is marked with a A and the body imprint is very sharp and complete and dated 2.

The pen appears to have been recently restored and the restoration was well done... it fills well with water...

So far I have only dip tested the pen....

What is really really sweet is the cap band.... it is a Jewelers Band cap.... with a space for initials to be engraved.... the trim is in great shape also.

Well here are the pics of my new Shadow Wave.... this now makes 3 full size and one Debutante I own....

Three black and one burgundy....

A grand pen, Tom, though I note many tend to call that band "stacked coin" (hardly obligatory) as the collector convention "Jeweler's Band" tends to be applied to slighly earlier DJ penVacss with significantly Wider cap band.

The correct SJ Waves such as yours are not so easy to find.

Nice one griz, think that this is the first SJ shadow wave that I have seen. Didn't know that they came in SJ.

Cheers,

Sean

David, you need to get that book out so I can spot the kosher and the frankenpens easier. :)

PenRx is no longer in business.
