Noodler's Green Marine

Well, I really really like this green. It's deep and has nice shading. I've had no trouble with dry smearing. I guess there is a little creep, but it does not bother me at all. I think the picture says it all. Every bit the lovely emerald color I was looking for. With a name like "marine" I was worried it would dry a bit olive or khaki, but it did not.

I agree! Great green and it has a pretty darn good waterproof ability as well...even though it's not stated...give it a go :)

Did you know I was incredibly curious about this ink and trying to decide between it and standard green?

LOVE LOVE LOVE it. sold. Let's just hope it behaves in my cheapo pens.

Thanks so much for posting this Chupie!!!

Cheers,

MM.

Good review and photos! I bought this ink on an impulse just based on a coupe of color samples and it is a perfect all around green. I find on some pens it's rather a light shade as well. I use it in my GO! as well and in my Safari.

Thanks for the look at a nice green.

I need a good deep green like that. I only have black, blue-black, blue, and red... 'course I just started but this looks like a good one. I can't remember if the store I go to has Noodler inks. though. I guess I'll find out.

I just received my Green Marine and filled my newest Sensa Meridian. Wow. I'm in love. It's not a "unique" green, but I would describe it as very "round"... It's dark but still colorful, yet not too idiosyncratic... you know, the color green is pretty un-stately (which is why it's my favorite color)...

And I will also say that holding my paper up next to Chupie's closeup pic is a darned good match!

Thanks for the pic, it was the decision-maker for me!

I'm still wondering about Standard Green (Noodler's), and I'd put Army Green on my list too... but I've got too many inks right now (I've got nine... let's see how long I hold out, though I'm saying that's my cap...)

Noodler's (Standard) Green seems mid-spectrum (but I'm not a spectrum expert). It's bright, like some "office work markup green" colors in gel inks and rollerball inks, but it's also easy on the eyes for several lines or even a pageful.

I also got a Tiananmen with my Green Marine order, and I'm excited to do a review of Antietam vs Tiananmen... Someone did a review of Habanero vs Cayenne that was very valuable, and I'm thinking: it would be nice to see the greens side by side. Pendemonium had sent me a qtip-swipe of marine green vs forest green vs standard green vs gruene cactus. but only gruene cactus looked different. Those Q-tip swipes don't show you much about how a color shades anyway...

And yes, Chupie, the GM definitely has "depth". Shades nicely.

I did some amazing paper-towel chromatography last night on some other colors and I can't wait to do it on the green tonight (got to wait until no one is around in the lab or else they'll laugh at me). I will post pictures of all of it because it is amazing.

That sounds cool! Can't wait to see that. :)

  • 1 year later...

The Noodler's green marine is a dark but still rich colour ink. It is not a high saturated ink and it leaves behind a high class green impression on paper. It is therefore a choice for daily office use rather than a fun green ink. I simply love it. In my Swan stub BB nibbed pen it just works out magnificent. Worth the trying.
