Desert island SINGLE pen??

If money were in great supply and no object to a pen purchase, which SINGLE pen would you own? Or maybe you are stranded on a desert island and could only have one pen with unlimited bottles of ink and paper, which pen.

I forgot to add my choice:

A toss up between the Mont Blanc Chopin edition or the Krone Moses/Anno Domini

I know i cheated a bit there. Maybe call them second choices!!

Hi,

Lamy 2000 is a good choice--rugged--reliable. But I would miss my M200s, sniff. :(

A Pelikan Souvrain 1000. I'd want something impressive in case the savage cannibals show up and need to be fended off.

While the pen is mightier than the sword, it helps to have a really big pen! :eureka:

I'm with Jeff -- gotta be an aerometric "51". Possibly my Plum one:

I like the "51" (my DJ Blue Cedar Vac filler) better, but on a desert island I'll take Pli-Glass over latex any day.

Only one pen?!? If I can only have one pen, it would have to be my copper colored Esterbrook J, but only if I can take several different nibs with me. It's not my favorite pen, but it is very reliable and the thought of only one pen makes me cringe. There are just too many moods to only have one nib!

If money was unlimited, I'd get a Wahl Eversharp Coronet

If I was stuck on a desert island: hands down, a full size Parker "51" with Aerometric filling system.

Hi,

OK, OK, I change my mind, I will bring an Aurora 888C (88 Demo). If not that, then my Torino Ice (Aurora B16I)

yep, great minds think alike! ;)

I have the 2000 Edition LE (stainless steel body/cap), and it is one cool pen! I'd have either this one or a Pelikan M805 in black/silver.

  • 1 year later...

If I would become so poor that I had to sell my all other fountain pens, I would keep my Waterman Philéas with fine nib and nobody would get it before they rip it from my cold dead fingers. If I should go to desert island with just one fountain pen, I would take my Pelikan M200 with fine nib. But I would have it ground to extra fine, first.
