Sheaffer Skrip Green

This is just a summary of my experiences with this ink. The drying time is comparable to Parker's Qink, there is shading, I used a Pentel Excalibur with medium nib. Feathering is very light, and probably not noticeable with a better grade of paper. I can't swear to the ability of mixing this ink, but I did mix it with india ink for a Koh-i-nor drafting pen, and it worked without any problems.

This is a recent scan, the writing is two years old and the backside of the paper was written with the same ink, so you can write double sided with this ink. Although the scan isn't great, what is clear is the shading, and feathering, or light feathering for that matter. The blur on the right is just a scanning problem because its from a composition journal.

Also a cut vertex can be inside a cycle, important to know that :roflmho:

I've always liked Skrip Inks. They are pretty fast dryers as you say and not prone to feathering. They're not as saturated as some would like but

I think there's a place for pastels in the world. These are more like my Easter Egg Colors.

I like inks that are not too saturated and Sheaffer is one of my favorites. However I have a bottle of pre-Slovenia green that is really and truly just TOO light even for me. Perhaps I just haven't found the right pen to use it in. It's kind of strange because I remember using Skrip Green, oh, about 20 years ago and liking it very much.

Wow it's nothing like the Emerald green they use to make back in the day. I guess I'll have to start looking for another vintage bottle of green Skrip. It's more of a leaf green and has become my favourite colour.

I'd rather spend my money on pens instead of shoes and handbags.

Slightly off topic, but where does the mathematics come from? (i.e., which area of maths?)

It's from Graph Theory, Graph Theory

the story behind that scan was, when I was flying from Hawaii to Utah back in 2005 liquids weren't banned from carry on bags, so I carried the bottle of sheaffer green, while I worked on Linear Algebra problems, and Graph Theory ones. The scan is from my journal of math problems I carried on the plane.

I was working out how exactly a graph can have properties such as connectivity, what could be taken out of the graph to disconnect it, if some graphs are well connected that removal of one vertex, or one edge won't disconnect the graph, etc. I'm still a bit of an amateur on the subject as I have self studied it for only two years, but not consistently, only when I had enough time to myself to work on it. It was a bit disappointing that University of Utah didn't have a graph theory course, or combinatorics course. However, there was one professor who did study the subject at a graduate level and even did a seminar on the subject, so I got the chance to annoy him for a little bit with the subject.

Right. The word "vertex" suggested graphs of some sort though I've never really looked into it much myself. Interestingly, I have a friend considering doing his PhD at Utah (coming from Scotland).

(Sorry, this has little to do with Skrip!)

It's much bluer than emerald green.

It is, I had some cartridges awhile ago in a school pen and the colour looked more like the peacock blue they use to have. I just found Noodlers has a colour called Emerald City green so I ordered some of that from WordLux- the only place you can get it. I only have a few more fills left in my Sheaffer bottle. I should do a review of the ink before it runs out.

I'd rather spend my money on pens instead of shoes and handbags.

Gotta love that Skrip green. Even though Skrip inks tend to be less saturated than some inks (particularly Skrip Blue and Black), green seems to be more solid and provide a wider variety of shading. Along with Skrip Purple, one of my favorite inks.

I love Sheaffer Skrip Green and have it in about three pens at the moment. I have two bottles of my mother's old Peacock Blue (pre-Slovenia). It's a turquoise blue while the Skrip Green (made in Slovenia) is a turquoise green. I love 'em both!

So many pens, so little time!
