Pilot Iroshizuku Inks

Sorry folks... no ink scans or reviews... it's too late and I'm too tired. But you do get a photo or two (sorry for the ugly flash) of the extremely cool bottles!

They are huge and heavy! You could lob one at someone and do serious damage. Not that I throw ink around... but in case you ever need to, there you go.

The Iroshizuku ink is just beautiful. It puts me in mind of Diamine ink, very friendly with lovely variation. :cloud9:

The bottles are indeed beautiful, but I'm confused. Is this the same ink that Pilot sells in their regular bottles, or is this a totally different ink? If so, we need reviews, we need scans, and we need information on where to buy this ink! :)

Geez, I love the design of those bottles, but these things are expensive... And probably I cannot get them in Europe anyhow....But thanks for sharing, lovely stuff. What about the inside is it up the outside?

Those pretty bottles sure look like they would hold more than 50 ml :)!

From Pilot's website, all of the colors seemed to be shades of blue.... or am I misinterpreting what I saw?

You are correct, they are all blue in different shades.

Well, they look very bottom heavy so I guess that there's no worry about tipping the bottle over when you're refilling from it. The whole thing is a lot bigger than the Noodler's bottle and yet they only hold 50 mL of ink. Yeah, it's a packaging thing.

On a sacred quest for the perfect blue ink mixture!

Several of my friends in Japan, really love this ink. It's very smooth flowing and has very nice colors. However, they really like the bottles, as they are hard to tip over.

Since this line of ink has been well received, rumor has it that Pilot plans on adding more inks to this new style. I wonder what they plan on coming out with?

Sincerely yours,

*drools* Anyone know any retail locations in Japan where this is available? My parents are going at the end of the month, and that way I can save on shipping... ;)

You probably don't need this reminder, but do remind THEM not to put it in their carry-on! The 'authorities' seem very squeemish about things like ink being transported these days. (They held up my repaired Marlen for days because they were concerned about it having ink in it, and they called to ask me--the addressee--whether it had toxic or non-toxic ink in it. Of course, this was shipped, rather than transported material.)

Thanks, my parents work for an airline so they're very familiar with all the regulations and things! My goodness though, I think I would have been tempted to make a snarky reply but then I probably would have had my things confiscated! :crybaby:

  • 4 weeks later...

I received some of this ink the other day. WOW. So worth the three month wait! Wonderful flow, beautiful color and shading to boot! The jar this ink comes in is very heavy. A person would have to push it over to tip it.
