Hi Hans,

Wow! Thanks for sharing that! The pictures are great, and it surely looks like a marvelous pen. Any chance for a review?

BTW, would you care to provide any information as to how and with what equipment you took these photographs?

TIA, warm regards, WIm

Thanks for the great pictures.

I have a 360 vision. I see we share a common problem - ink splatter inside the cap.

How do you clean that?

Regards,

Jeen

Hi Wim,

I used very high end professional digital photo gear..... :P

Just kidding, I took these pictures today next to the window (for daylight) and used a handheld Canon Ixus4 in automatic mode and in macro mode.

Nothing special. Of course I took a lot of pictues and deleted the shaken ones.

The background is the Omas brochure (the hand you see is a picture in the brochure) and the Omas pen cloth.

Ciao,

-Hans.

Hi Jeen,

Until now I have not cleaned the cap yet. But I clean the barrel and nib with water and a tissue. Just fill the barrel with water and blow the water through the pen. Use the tissue to clean the excess of water droplets out of the barrel and let it dry for a while. I do this if the pen refuses to write after a prolonged neglect by me.

I have a OMAS Ogiva Vision with the Advanced Cartridge System. The pen has a broad nib. When I first got the pen it did not write well, the ink flow was very unreliable. I read in other postings that the OMAS Ogiva normally has a good wet inkflow. Not so for my Ogiva. The flow was dry and sometimes the flow was uneven. Also sometimes the pen needed some time before it starts. It did not seems to be a problem with the cartridge system or the feed, since the flow is very good if a paper napkin is held against the upperside of the nib slit. But after a long time and frekwent neglect the feed got very saturated with ink and since then it writes like a dream.

Also the pen dryed out when left unused for a few hours. The problem is the hole in the cap through which the clip is attached. This hole is much to large and if you blow in the cap you will notice there is a huge air leak through this hole. What I did is fold a piece of paper several times until it is a small package and put this in the hole beneath the clip. This has fixed this problem with my pen.

So the pen had two problems, the drying out and the uneven flow. Both problems are fixed now, and if I use the pen each day I do not get flow problems anymore.

Ciao,

-Hans.

Thank you for that info! I'll have to remember to try and use daylight. I am trying to use several flashlights, but somehow the white balance isn't all there. It looks like I need some more practice....

BTW, any chance for a review accompanying those great pictures? :D

Warm regards, Wim

Hi Hans,

Thank you for posting the photos of your OMAS pen here. It's a stunner! :)

I also have an OMAS, but mine is an Extra (which has a clear barrel). Great writer, very smooth nib....I learned the hard way about leaving highly saturated ink (like PR Plum) in it for a few weeks...
