Edison Pen Beaumont w/Bexley nib

The most recent addition to my fountain pen collection is an Edison Pen (Pencraft) Beaumont LE in green/black ebonite with a Bexley 18kt medium nib and gold titanium furniture. The pen is made by Brian Gray, a member of the FPN community. I discovered Brian's website, www.edisonpen.com, while reading one of the FPN forums.

 

I'm taken by simple elegance and Brian's work is that to me (not that it is simple to make pens). When I saw the Beaumont in green/black ebonite on the website, I not only wanted the pen, but I also wanted to support Brian's creative endeavor of pen making. When I can, I encourage talent with support. I ordered the pen and in two days it was delivered to my mailbox.

 

Brian had adjusted the nib to write buttery smooth and wet, but not too wet--my preference. The cap and barrel are beautiful to behold, as is the Bexley nib. The fit and finish is outstanding.

 

Although the specs of Edison pens are listed on the website, I was surprised at the size of this pen. It is a full six inches with the cap--taller than any of my other fountain pens. The barrel cannot be capped--my preference and a plus for the design. The barrel w/nib measures 5 1/4" long with the barrel being a bit thicker than my Vanishing Point but very comfortable to hold. The weight of the barrel, nib and ink is also very comfortable in hand. I inked it soon after taking it out of the box and wrote for over an hour with it and experienced no fatigue. It is deceptively light. I love this pen!

Yes you can, but I must ask you to visit pencraftonline.com to do so. The pen photography is beautiful on the website. You will find the colors and the models that will show you what my Beaumont looks like. You can also see the nibs offered which includes the Bexley. Any photo that I might attempt to send you would not do the pen justice. Thank you for understanding.

I have been to that website, and these are indeed beautiful pens. I'm always interested in pens that members of our little forum have helped to design. It makes the design a lot more personal.
