J. Herbin's Poussiere de Lune

umenohana

Recommended Posts

Nib: Nakaya soft flex fine

Paper: Clairefontaine Triomphe

When I bought this ink, I thought I was getting something lighter, like what I saw on the other reviews of this ink.

Edit: The scan looks quite a bit lighter than how it looks in real life--IRL, it looks like the dark, flexed parts.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is very much a mysterious, dusty, "moon" color. Take a look for yourselves:

Nice colour and nice to start this written article with my name.. B)

The Legend

Keep writing.

Keep doing it and doing it.

Even in the moments when it's so hurtful to think about writing.

Thanks! Great color, and I always enjoy your writing samples.

I've never tried this ink, but it looks similar to my "Umbergine" mix (see thread in Inky Thoughts forum). I'll have to compare them sometime.

Don

These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value.--Thomas Paine, "The American Crisis", 1776

Thanks for the scan. It's a great colour, and your handwriting, as always, is a joy to look at.

Hana, you handwriting never ceases to amaze! :)

It's a very nice color. One for the "to buy"-list...

Thanks for the great compliments; thank you, thank you!

I just got this precious ink all over my fingers during class, because I failed to wipe the excess ink off completely after filling it up this morning.

What a fashion statement!

It's always nice to see a good review of an ink color, Thanks for the great review, Hana. I like J Herbin inks and this is a pleasing color. Your handwriting is beautiful! Off topic just a bit, I've enjoyed your samples of the ink label for the FPN ink. I've been folllowing that thread also. Keep up the good work, you have a wonderful talent.

And, Charlotte Bronte.... Jane Eyre is my all time favorite book! :)9

I haven't read Villette, so now you've peaked my interest!

Oh, my goodness! Jane Eyre is my all time favorite, too! I'd always wondered why all my classmates were so impatient with the rich, deep narrative.. Good to know you have such excellent taste, Rosey! Charlotte Bronte's writing makes me feel. Ooh, I could rant on and on, but I don't want to spoil the books for anyone~

Fans of Jane Eyre might really like The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde. You have to be willing to suspend your disbelief about 200' in the air, but it's well worth it.

Ooh, sounds very interesting! Sounds like a much better way to Eyre than to watch the movie versions. Thanks so much for the tip! :D

It was your review that swayed me into purchasing this ink and I am so grateful for that! At some point I would like to try a brown ink but I am so enamoured with this one that that will have to wait!

All the best.
