Here are some pics of the other inks I recently received from Nagasawa.

The colors in this picture is closer to the actual colors. I had some problems with the color balance in the actual review samples.

These are not new. I think they've been around for about a year or so. They are only available from Nagasawa Pen Style in Kobe. These are LE inks made for Nagasawa who seem to have a special relationship with Sailor. There are 20 inks in the series that are derived from aspects of the city of Kobe. There is also a special black ink Baku Kaoru that is not part of the Kobe series but another Nagasawa LE. This black ink has the look and smell of traditional Japanese Sumi ink. Since Nagasawa now sells internationally via Rakuten, I was able to buy these inks online directly from Nagasawa.

One of the nice benefit of this forum is to bring to our attention new inks from manufacturers from different parts of the world. The Kitano Ijikan looks like Sailor's Red-Brown, disguised under a new name. The Orange Ikuta looks interesting. All in all, thanks for adding this ink review to our collection.

I'm not sure my pictures truly represents the true color. Looking at the reviews of the Sailor Red-Brown, the Kitano Ijikan is a bit darker and more red in real life. The shade depends on the pen. The Curtis pen gave a more reddish line without any shading. The flexy Shiseido pen gives a lot of shading with more brownish overtones.

[i just edited the original post with better images of the writing samples that are truer to the real colors]

I haven't played with the Ikuta Orange that much. The Emerald Nunobiki looks like a greener shade of Pilot Iroshizuku Shimbashi-iro.

Given time, I'll put up a few more reviews of the other inks. I'll definitely do that for the Boku Kaoru Black.

Most of these inks are still available although it look like the Emerald Nunobiki just sold out. I may order the rest of the series that are still available.

Those colors look amazing. Thanks for the review. Looks like I'll be adding some new inks to the list. :)

Actually, there are a lot more colors available. There are 20 inks in the Kobe series. They have like 3-4 different greens and 3 blues. I only picked up a few scattered inks. I'll probably order some more.

Could you possibly provide a link so that we could see the color choices and ordering information?

Are you familiar with the Pen Gallery's Sailor Uranari Green? I'm trying to get my hands on that one...

Edit: Looks like they just re-stocked. Several of the colors that were sold out are now available again.

I just tried to order from the sight. Wish I could read Japanese. Even the English only version has to much garble on the page to understand what you're ordering. I had to cancel the order because I wasn't sure what I was agreeing too. :(

It can be a little intimidating if you are not comfortable with the Japanese and the machine translation.

for ordering the inks, use the link above. That gives all of the inks in the series.

Choose the ink you want and click on the picture of the ink. This takes you to the page for that ink. Above the price is a number. This is the number of the ink in the series. For example, the Okamoto pink is No. 12. So just choose the quantity and hit add to cart. This part is just like a western site. This then takes you to the shopping cart. The name of the item is in Japanese but the item description say Kobe ink and has the ink no. . Make sure this is consistent with the ink you chose. To continue shopping, hit back and choose another ink. When you are done, hit proceed to checkout. The page should be mostly in english. Make sure you enter you address correctly. For payment, choose the first option which is credit card. This is obvious because it has the entry fields for a credit card. Then finish the purchase.

If you run into Japanese and have to know what it says, use this link http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_txt .

Just cut and paste any Japanese into the text box and choose Japanese to English and hit translate.

Now, the system will send you a confirmation e-mail. This will be in Japanese. Then the vendor (Nagasawa in this case) will send a separate confirmation in Japanese. Make sure the address is correct. You can use the babelfish site to translate the Japanese. You can reply to the e-mail in english although you can use babelfish to provide a translation of your English into Japanese. You will receive another e-mail to confirm the price and then another with the EMS tracking number once they ship.

I hope this helps.
