"Right or Left?"

Hi all - I'm not usually on this forum as I only have one J in my collection, but my Estie count has just doubled.

First a bit of back story; my Dad is (or was) an antique dealer, and when I was a kid I used to get any pens he came across either in junk lots at auctions or from house clearances. He's semi-retired now, but still occasionally buys pens for me if he sees them. My wife visited my parents this afternoon while I was at work and when I came home, she said held out her closed hands and said, "Right or left?" I chose right and got this:

Needless to say I received the pen at 7pm and less than an hour later it was re-sacced, cleaned and ready to write! My only nagging thought is what she might have had in her left hand...

Oh, that was just a winning lottery ticket; completely unimportant by comparison to this pen.

Does not always write loving messages.

Does not always foot up columns correctly.

Does not always sign big checks.

Wow! It's in great condition, and such a beautiful writer! Is the ink Diamine Golden Brown by any chance?

FP Ink Orphanage-Is an ink not working with your pens, not the color you're looking for, is never to see the light of day again?!! If this is you, and the ink is in fine condition otherwise, don't dump it down the sink, or throw it into the trash, send it to me (payment can be negotiated), and I will provide it a nice safe home with love, and a decent meal of paper! Please PM me!For Sale: TBA

Noodlers Walnut - but the photo's been lightened a little so the brown is a bit richer than this.

Soapy :

That looks like a BCHR or is it Black Chased Celluloid? I didn't know Esterbrook Relief's came in Chased pattern or HR. I'm not looking hard enough I guess . Jim

Check out Esterbrook.net's Relief pens page: mine's the same as the first picture.
