Maybe even near-sumgui territory?

Isn't this a 777? 14kt nib right? I need anogther GF pen to continually wipe fingeprints off of (Hi Andy!) like I need

another hole in the head, but a deal is a deal...

Thanks in advance for the 411.

Can anyone verify that it's a 777 and has a 14kt nib for me? Thanks!

Oh and PS; Will the BP take the currently available Sheaffer refills?

And I'm the bidder who bid one dollar less than you! :crybaby: Looks like a great pen - enjoy.

Sorry to hear that Kudzo. Given the choice, I'd prefer to not be bidding against another FPNer.

Last I checked there were 10,000 registered users on FPN. I hardly think we could avoid bidding against each other, even if we wanted to.

I would love to see some opinions on this as well - I always thought the 777 came with a Triumph or Stylist-style nib, not an inlaid nib.

So if you have a lot of ink,

You should get a Yink, I think.

Wow, nice set, Bruce. I'd think $34 is a steal for any FP/BP set in that condition!

I subscribe to The Rule of 10 (pens, that is)

1) Parker Sonnet 1st gen 2) Pelikan 200 yellow 3) Parker 51 vac 4) Esterbrook trans J 5) Esterbrook LJ "Bell System Property" 6) Sheaffer Snorkel Valiant fern green 7) Waterman 52.5V 8) Parker 75 cisele 9) open 10) open (I'm hankering for a Doric)

I'm sure it's a fantastic deal, but when I click the link in the OP I get a very brief flash of the item on eBay and then the message that the auction has ended. Anyone know how/if I could see the full item description? Thanks.

It's wondeful when the planets align and you actually get something from The Bay that's truly in BETTER shape than

the (even 1/2 way decent) pics alluded to.

This set came in today. I'm guessing the seller just shot the pics completely 100% as he found the set without even so

much as wiping them down.

I took a jewelers cloth to it for a few minutes.

It is truly MINTILICIOUS. :bunny01:

There is not so much as a tiny surface scratch on either pen (which is remarkable since I can usually scratch a GF pen

just by staring at it hard...) and it still has the "MEDIUM' chalk across the top of the section. It has at least been inked

though as the converter isn't 100% pristine. The BP even still writes in Blue F. With GF stuff I get from The Bay, I always go at it at least lightly with some Simichrome to take out any of the micro-scratches in it. This will be the first GF item I've gotten from there where there's absolutely nothing to gain by doing so.

Works for me! B)
